Kennie opened her eyes at the mention of Hogsmeade. She didn't want to go. It was simple as that. Her brothers Theodore and Maven were third years, and this was the first year they had been able to go to the village. They loved it there, they probably spent a ton of time in Zonko's, if Kennie knew them properly. Reagan was too young to go, she probably still felt inundated with just the entire process. "Please, don't," Kennie said. "I don't want to think about that now," But it was already too late. The disturbing memories were slowly leaking back into her main thoughts, instead of the corner in which she had confined them.

"It's fine.. It's ok." He was sitting on the bed watching her with a soft calm look in his eyes. " I was thinking of staying at Hogwarts this time too." He gave a warm smile. "give all the prefects a break and take over in mischief managing for a while." He gave a warm smile trying to see if he might even be able to get a small smile out of her.

Kennie wanted to return the smile, but felt that her face was rejecting the gesture, so her lips remained straight, on the edge of being a frown, but not quite there. So she gave a slight nod instead. Though inside she felt a surge of affection for Charles. She had the feeling that he was only going to stay because she wasn't intending to go. It could be fun. Besides, with most of the student population outside the castle, it might be a bit more possible for them to be together without the whispers. "Yes, I suppose first and second years are a real handful," Kennie said, hint of sarcasm in her tone. After all, on Hogsmeade days, almost everyone over third year was gone.

"Hmm" He was getting an idea of maybe what could be there first date. He knew she liked him, but they didn't discuss going on a date or even establishing a relationship. Maybe they could talk about it then. "It's settled right after everyones left on their path.. meet me.." He wondered where a good place would be, outside? or inside? "Meet me here.in the room of requirement." He smiled warmly and then looked around the room. The music changing to a lullaby. "But for now.. you should get some sleep."

"Okay," Kennie whispered. The idea of spending time with Charles was thrilling, though at the moment, exhaustion had its hold on her. She hoped that she wouldn't leave her, if he wanted, the room could make him another bed, but it would make all the difference for her to know that someone was there. Someone whom she trusted. "You should rest too," Kennie added. She allowed her eyes to slip closed. She listened to the sounds of the gentle music and Charles' steady breathing. She fell into a light, but mercifully dreamless sleep.

"Okay" He replied but he just at there and watched her sleep for a bit before he would lay back onto the bed. and just look to the ceiling for a while. His chest rising a fall with each gentle breath. HE would think about moving maybe another bed would appear, but he kept telling himself he wsn't going to sleep. A few hours later he fell asleep.

Don't scream,
The words met her nose sharply, the man's breath reeked of alcohol and tobacco. He laughed sourly. Kennie wanted to push the man away, but found that her arms couldn't move, breathing was hard... His sour laughing resonated in her ears, shook her down to her very soul...
Kennie's eyes flew open, she was then aware that she had been holding her breath. She took in a few deep breaths, staring up at the ceiling. The music had stopped and the room was dim, but a few floating candles flickered. Charles was still on the bed with her, he looked as if he were sleeping, so she didn't want to disturb him, so she didn't allow herself to move. Kennie mentally told herself that she was not going to cry this time, not again. Of course, this was in vain, as tears came to her eyes. Kennie blinked forcefully, then bit her lip.

He had no dream as he lay there, but a sense of love, whatever that really meant. He thought he had felt Kennie movie, the bed shook a bit when she had shot up from whatever woke her. He kept his eyes closed a while more till he felt another slight movement. Charles eyes opened slowly, that smile in his eyes that everyone else seemed to notice when they caught him watching the hufflepuff for a few moments. He then noticed the tear and moved towards her placing his arm around her. "hey.." He said softly, hoping she might turn on her side so he could pull her into a hug. "Shh.. everythng's fine.. I'm here...no one's going to harm you.." He watched her, that sort of love sick look was still in his eyes, but it held a lot more concern.

Kennie turned to her side, it felt awkward the way that Charles had his arm around her in that position, so she had decided to move slightly. She tried to stop the tears, but it was too hard to hold them back. They fell silently. She allowed Charles to hold her. She felt bad for waking him, she had not meant to move at all when she had awoken. Perhaps it was just some sort of reflex. She just wished that the dreams would go away. Every time that she closed her eyes, Kennie would be in that same position again, and spend the rest of the night crying. The only thing that kept her from collapsing these days was a daily energy potion that she would brew herself.

He placed a kiss on her cheek to remind her of how they had earlier told each other they liked each other in words. He would probably wake up a few days from now and have that 'wow.. kennie likes me.. me and kennie' reaction. Of course they weren't an offical couple or anything they just admited feelings, but he had something in mind for the right moment to ask her if she might be interested in having a boyfriend. That perfect timing was not now of course. He watched her silent, he said nothing. He was there to comfort her and the best way he could thin kof was just showing her that he was there, by holding her.

Kennie felt somewhat better as Charles held her. That man couldn't get her here, he wouldn't be able to get inside Hogwarts. She frequently hoped that the Ministry would catch him, so no other girls would meet her fate at his hands. But, Kennie supposed that there were actual Dark wizards the Ministry's Aurors were trying to find at the time, seen as more "top priority cases" than just another rapist. The mere thought of that made anger boil in the pit of her stomach, but as for now, Kennie allowed the tears to flow silently. Charles was a good person. "Sorry for w-waking you," Kennie whispered.

" I was just resting my eyes" He said to make the hufflepuf girl feel more at ease. He was usualy a heavy sleeper and such movements wouldn't suauyl wake him. But somewhere in his subconscious was taking over his tired body with out him realizing it.. making him ready to be able to react if need. After all when he had fallen a sleep hi had felt like he needed to watch over the girl. He smiled as his eyes clsoed for a moment then opened once more that sort of loving gaze was in his e=yes, well a hint of it anyway.

Kennie didn't really believe him but allowed herself to be numb to the fact that he was most likely lying to her. She didn't like to be a burden on other people, she just felt that it wasn't fair to them. After all, this was her problem, not theirs. But Kennie had realized a few days ago that this weight was too much for her shoulders, and that she would need some help. It was hard for her to admit this, even to herself. Kennie remained quiet, glad the Charles wasn't trying to force conversation on her. She just listened to his breathing, the steady sound slowly soothing her. But that incident was always poking at her present thoughts.

He continued to just aly with her, no words coming from his lips. They would lay there for a while before he would start to hum and eventualy softly sing
"Nightquest - quest not for the past But for tomorrow to make it last Simply the best - way to walk this life Hand in hand with the dreamers'minds
Enter the realm, don't stay awake The dreams remain, they only brake Forget the task, enjoy the ride And follow us into the night
A merry minstrel with his fingers fast Playing his lute, charming every lass Joins the troop with a glitter in his eye " Shall I find fame or shall I die"
A warrior of power along the path A hammerheart, his gallantry to last Rhythm of sirens, enemies, take heed For in this war laws are a silent sleep"
The words wore softly spoken/sung a bit different from how it sounded in the actual song. Hoping she'd just hear the soft tone of his voice and not listen to muc hto what he was sayinh.

Kennie recognized that tune, it was the only non-classical muggle music that she really cared for. She had heard it once in downtown London, when they were on their way to Diagon Alley, it had been playing inside a shop. The tune had stuck with her since then, she had found out a bit more about the artist over the summer. She liked the band a lot.
"Patriotic to the promised land of Neverwaking Dream
"Come to the elfland" the eldest said, "In my guidance you shall not be afraid, I am the mastermind, the wizard to show the way""
Kennie added, more like in a whisper than singing. She closed her eyes lightly, though didn't sleep, she was slowly calming, though she probably would not rest much the rest of the evening.
