He smiled , bitting his lower lip at his words. A small laugh from his lips. " I was worried this entire time you didn't like me.. I thought maybe if I cut my hair.. but I still couldn't tell. I'm just relieved you do. That does mean you do like me.. right.. ?" He added on the question at the last second. It was just a very cheesy moment, but he didn't care . He looked down to her hand which was resting on his with a warm look in his eyes, he allowed his fingers to crawl between hers.

Kennie laughed softly, but it died quickly. Her heart wasn't really in it, laughing was the most difficult thing that she could do lately, even talking was easier with her hoarse monotone. Her heart fluttered as Charles laced his fingers with hers. His hand was warm against hers, their hands seemed to fit almost perfectly together, as if they were meant to hold one another. "Yes," said Kennie. She felt this moment to be terribly awkward and slightly sappy, but it felt good, knowing that their feelings were established. He had not pulled away.

"So we've established our feelings... " ' what now?' he thought to himself, his eyes going towards his hand which was interlocked with hers. This was a first for him, he literaly changed to the person he knew he should be, a better person because of her. He had never been in a relationship, he was one that liked to flirt with different girls. Not one that ever wanted to be in a serious relationship, but now he did. Kennie was the one that would change him for the better. He knew that they could learn and improve each other whether or not they realized it, they were good for each other.

Kennie remained quiet after what Charles had said about them establishing their feelings. She just wanted to sit there and hold his hand for a while. Words weren't necessary, at least not for Kennie they weren't. But for the first time in a long while, she felt at peace with herself and what had happened. It wasn't looming over her, it was just poking occasionally at her conscience from the corner of her mind. Her eyes traveled to the bed that was in the corner of the room ever since she had gone in. It hadn't looked so inviting until then. Kennie closed her eyes lightly.

His eyes moved to look where she had after her eyes closed. He smile, no this wasn't how he imagined how they would tell each other, but they ddi and now he wouldn't be able to imagine in other way they could have told each together. He looked back towards her, then to there hands. He allowed them to sit there for a good while, no words. When he did speak his words were soft as if not to interrupt the sleep that seemed to be coming over the girl. "You should get some sleep, I'll go."

Kennie's eyes opened, she had been on the edge of falling asleep, but Charles' words brought her back to reality once more. They were still holding hands, which she thought was really cute. She had never been terribly big on physical affection, Kennie liked having her own space. But this was a soft and subtle gesture. She didn't want Charles to leave her, she wanted to spend all night like that. She felt protected with him around. Though Kennie doubted that he wanted to stay there all night. He probably wanted to get back to his dormitory and go back to sleep as well. She had become all too accustomed to being up most of the night. "Okay," Kennie said quietly. With her free hand, she reached over and gently placed it upon his cheek, just to convince herself this was real. Kennie gave Charles a light peck on the cheek. "Goodnight," she said.

He looked at her, his chest rising and falling slowly. He was indeed becoming tired ,but he didn't want to leave her either. Not so soon after they had admitted their feelings for each other. But he was new to the whole thing, he didn't know what was appropriate or not. As she placed her hand against his cheek, his eyes closed for a second. He gave a gentle nod good bye and then walked to the door. Turned to look at her once more then moved out of the doors. The heavy doors closing behind him he started to walk down the hall. His feet stopped and he stood there, what was he doing? The next thing he realized he was walking back to the wall, the doors appearing once more and opening for him. He moved a little bit faster than his normal walk over to her, he could hear the doors close behind him, placing a kiss on her cheek, he took a small step back. "I don't want to go anywhere.. not yet.."

Once the door had closed behind Charles, Kennie stood, the bed in the corner seeming very appealing just then. She bet that it would be just like her bed at home, firm, but with a soft goose-down covering, a pillow stuffed with feathers, satin sheets, with a warm, thick blanket. Rondo Alla Turca began to play softly from nowhere as she made her way to the bed, but before she could lie down, the door opened and Charles was there once more. "That's fine," Kennie breathed after he had kissed her. She sat down on the bed and patted the space beside her, a gesture for Charles to sit down.

He watched her and wondered if it would be the appropriate thing tod o. She was inviting him to sit near him on a bed, he didn't want to seem rude. Charles walked slowly over to the bed taking a seat next to her. If she wanted to sleep it was fine by him, he'd just watch over her. Be there for her if she woke up from a bad dream, wake her up if it looked like he was having one. He sat there in silence, not sure of what to say.

Kennie leaned her head against Charles' shoulder once he had sat down beside her, he smelled good. Similar to the cologne her father used, though different, it wasn't exactly the same. She wondered what her parents would think if they knew she liked a white boy. Although albino, Kennie was still considered to be black. "Tell me about your family," said Kennie, eyes glancing into the fireplace that had just appeared. Though she liked Charles very much, Kennie didn't know much about him. She figured family was a good place to start, they all had to come from somewhere, didn't they?

Feeling her head lean against his shoulder, it made him feel weird. NOt a bad weird, but a good weird. " Family" He repeated her words and then his head gently moved to gently rest against her head. "I'm adopted. My adopted parents are both very loving. They couldn't have kids so they adopted me. UM the only information that was given to the orphanage that could be given to them was that It was for my safety.. after all the times were starting to get dark... that my father doesn't know about me.. and that her name was.. . Well I don't remember. But it doesn't really matter. I figure they died." His chest rising and falling down slowly. He moved his head from resting on hers. "And your family?"

Kennie listened as Charles described his family life. Adoptive parents, she would have sympathized with him, but he didn't really seem to saddened by it. She admired that in a person. Those people were certainly stronger than she was, she still wasn't able to get over what had happened to her, it was all too much at times. "I'm the oldest of four, two younger brothers, Maven and Theodore, they're thirteen. And then there's Reagan, she's eleven. We live in a manor in the countryside with our parents." said Kennie, reaching into the pocket of her sweatshirt and pulling out the picture of her mother and father. "That's my Mum and Dad, when they were first married." Her mother was gorgeous, caramel-toned skin, with coffee-coloured hair. Her father was extremely dark, head shave with the start of a goatee.

He smiled. "Yes, I noticed them on the piano earlier.. " He smiled towards the happy couple in the picture. He never did understand goatees, but he wouldn't make acomment on it. "So your family isn't a happy one?" He questioned with a bit of concern in his voice. He moved a bit so that maybe she might lift her head from his shoulder. After which he would kick off his shoes and crawl back on the bed and just lay back, stairing at the ceiling, which started to look like a night sky, everyone once in a while a shooting star would go by. He moved his upper torso towards her abit so his arm could go aroun her waist and he could moved her, so she was laying down, her head against his stomach. Together thy would look like a lower case t with out the right side of the cross that made the t , well the t. " we don't have to talk about family if you don't want to."

"Quite the opposite," said Kennie, tucking the picture away once more. "We get along fairly well," She had to admit that she was a little uncomfortable with her head against Charles' stomach, as if they were too close. But she and Simon had shared a couch before on the nights when he had woken because of his terrible nightmares, so she shouldn't feel uncomfortable, right? Perhaps it was just because the relationship she had with Charles was different from the one with Simon. Kennie closed her eyes lightly, this was the most relaxed she had felt in a long while. Rondo Alla Turca stopped playing in the background and was replaced with Moonlight Sonata.

"Must be nice.. having siblings that is.." He then moved some to sit up, whether she would move that was up to her. " I wonder what they would think of you missing a wonderful day at Hogsmeade.." He had asked her a couple days ago infront of the great hall , but she didn't have a clear answer. He knew she'd probably try and find an excuse, but he really hoped she would change her mind.
