Kennie had opened her mouth to say something along the lines of "no, haven't I told you I had intended to walk?", but thought better of it, though still feeling stupid with her mouth open and not saying anything, even if she wasn't looking at Charles, and he wouldn't have been able to see it. "Sure, fine," Kennie said quietly, pulling her hood forward a bit more, then promptly jamming her hands back into her pockets. She had the strongest impulse to reach out and touch Charles' face, just to make sure he was real, not just a fragment of her imagination. She refrained. Kennie seated herself in the shade of the tree, sitting so she was covered by her skirt, legs folded. As an extra measure she draped her opened robes over her legs and lap.

"I'm not going to do anything.. you know.. not all guys are creeps like who ever.." He took a deep breath. It was obvious he was becoming tense with the thought of someone doing that to her.. to anyone really, but the girl he had a crush on just made it even worse. "It's guys like that.. that.. grr.. If I find him I'll punch him till he begs then you can kick him in the croch.. " His hand formed a fist, but he released it, stretching his fingers as he did so. "Sorry..." He looked down to his own lap, his hands resting on his lap for a moment. He wanted to ask her if there was anything he could do for her, b ut figured it might make it worse so he didn't

God, why did he have to talk about that? She had been trying as hard as she could to forget about it, the nightmares haunted her sleep, she didn't need to be reminded during waking hours. Of course he would say something like that, said Kennie, slipping her wand up her sleeve, where she could easily access it. They would all act that way until you least suspected it, Kennie attempted to relax, but found it to be difficult. Then Charles started talking about beating him up... In a sense, Kennie thirsted for revenge on him, make him feel as much pain as he had given her, make him wake up in a cold sweat every night, unable to return to sleep... But she knew that it wouldn't do any good. Nothing was going to take away the hurt. "You're very sweet," Kennie said in a small voice.

He smiled for a second "Yea.. i've been told I can be sweet every now and then." He smirked and looked up then turned his head to look towards the Hufflepuff. "I'm sorry shouldn't have brought it up.. hmm.. " He thought about what they could talk about so that she didn't think about it. "Um.. what kind of music do you listen to?" He wanted to get to know her and he knew it m ight be harder than before due to the recent past events.

Music? Kennie preferred to make her own rather than listen to the work of others, of course, this was not widespread. But she did play piano, viola, flute, and harp as well as sing. Her parents were wealthy and formidable, she and all her siblings learned fine music at a very young age, though they weren't very open with their talents. But when she did listen to music, it tended to be classical, either by muggle or wizard composers. She didn't talk much about her music, though when she couldn't sleep she would sometimes sneak into the Room of Requirement to practice. "Classical," said Kennie quietly.

"Mozart?" He though a moment. " What about Frank Sinatra? He's one of my favorite artist, not classical but.. certainly a classic." He enjoyed talking to the girl. To actually have a good conversation with a girl and really, really want to listen to the girl was rare and he was loving it. even though the conversation just started, he wondered if the girl might let it continue for a bit longer.

Kennie had heard of Mozart before, he was one of her favourite composers, but Frank Sinatra, she had never heard of him. The only muggle music she knew was through muggle studies, and they had covered composers, but not other artists. "I've never heard of a musician by the name of Frank Sinatra," said Kennie. "But Mozart is one of my favourites." she couldn't believe how much she was talking now. She had said more in the past ten minutes than what she had said all week. It felt natural talking to Charles, but at the same time, Kennie was wary. She didn't want to get too close to anyone.

He smiled " Frank Sinatra sings some classic old songs like Fever and Come Fly with Me... I think you would enjoy it." He kept the smile on his lips as he looked away from the girl to their surroundings. This was different for him and he had no idea if he was doing it right, the entire conversation thing. He took a deep breath as he leaned back and closed his eyes after watching the clouds for a moment. He felt nervous just sitting a few inches away from the girl.

Kennie had not recognized those songs either. Perhaps she would ask her parents if they knew, although pureblooded, her mother was once a teacher of muggle studies. She might know. But Kennie had not spoken to her parents since the incident, they wanted her to come home for a little while, but she did not like the idea of having to ride the train all by herself to London. The idea of being alone for too long was frightening, and the train took several hours. "Hm," said Kennie, wishing she had something more to say. Yet again, she was at a loss for words. She shifted her position so she was more comfortable, but couldn't find it in herself to carry the conversation.

"I'll give you a demo.. though I don't sound as great as the Great Frank sinatra" His eyes stayed shut, glad to be under shade. HE thought about what song he might sing . "I'll sing a few different ones.. though remember not as great.. " He didn't say he couldn't sing well it was just No one could sing like Frank Sinatra.
"Fly me to the moon Let me sing among those stars Let me see what spring is like On jupiter and mars
In other words, hold my hand In other words, baby kiss me
Fill my heart with song Let me sing for ever more You are all I long for All I worship and adore
In other words, please be true In other words, I love you"
He then paused.. "Whats another good one.. hmm " He paused before he started to sing once more.
"Get in touch with that sundown fellow As he tiptoes across the sand Hes got a million kinds of stardust Pick you favrite brand, and
Dream, when youre feeling blue Dream, thats the thing to do Just watch the smoke rings rise in the air Youll find your share of memories there"
He stopped singing as he opened his eyes, his head turning a bit to look towards her.

"Oh, erm," Kennie had began in such a small tone that Charles was unlikely to hear her. He had begun to sing already, Kennie found that his voice was soothing, sure, probably not the best singer in the world, but a calming voice. Almost like her father's, of course, his voice was a lot deeper than Charles', but they both still held the calming effect on her. "That was wonderful," said Kennie, and gave a quick smile. It faded quickly, lingering only a fraction of a second, and it had felt weird on her lips, as if it didn't belong there.

"Thanks.." He said unsure of how he really sang. He closed his eyes again. Maybe it would better if they were silent. As she tried to relax, his closed, he realized as much as he wanted to be quiet he couldn't. He wanted to talk to her, he felt like he had to talk to her.. like if he stopped then this little meet of theres wasn't real, just a dream that would fade away and the thought of that sadened him. Charles Height actualy sadened by something, it was weird.

Kennie leaned her head against the trunk of the tree, though didn't close her eyes like Charles did. She felt uneasy doing that, she already felt as a disadvantage, she couldn't afford to not be alert. Though, somehow, it was hard to explain, but she felt a bit safer with Charles around, similar to the way she felt with Simon, but not exactly the same way. She sighed quietly, the clouds were beginning to thicken once more, covering the sun again. Kennie cautiously lowered her hood, and returned to leaning her head against the tree. It was quiet.

It would remain quiet for a good time, Charles fell asleep for a moment, but jerked out of it almost instantly after. HE had seemed relaxed while leaning against the tree, his arms crossed, but he was on alert. At the same time as being on, charles was still a bit nervous sitting next to the beautiful blond. Though it wasn't as strong as before it was still there. He had not once ever just sat with a girl in silence. It was different, but it was a good different and he would probably never forget this encounter.

Kennie thought back on the picture of her parents that she had back in her dormitory. It was the only one that she had brought wit her that year. It featured just her mother and father, holding hands and smiling up at her, sometimes they would lightly peck one another on the lips, or wave up at the viewer. Her mother, so beautiful, her dark brown hair and skin the colour of caramel. Her father, muscular and extremely dark, his head shaved, like always. Kennie was the only one in her family with albinism, it was like a freak gene or something. She remained quiet, hands folded in her lap, and eyes gazing off into the distance.
