He stared at the Whomping willow from yards away. Apparently the tree didn't like birds. He took a deep breath, held it for two mintues and then exhailed. No idea why he had just done that, he just felt like he had to. His eyes moved around the grounds. No one was around. Why? maybe because even being so many yards away from the Whomping Willow seemed dangerous. Charles had been questioning that picture he had found, the one of the guy and his friends. The guy looked so much like him at his age it was weird, he tried not to think anything of it though. His father didn't even know he existed if he had one, so that was how it was in his mind.

This was probably the first time Kennie had taken a walk by her lonesome ever since the night she had gotten raped in the woods beside the path to Hogsmeade. She was a bit nervous, but she supposed that nobody who was within Hogwarts would harm her, and nobody on the outside could get in... Unless Dumbledore gave them permission too. Kennie trusted his judgment. She saw the Whomping Willow in the distance, an older boy not too far away. The girl looked awful. Dark circles were under her eyes from lack of sleep, the eyes themselves were red and puffy from crying. Normally straight-backed and proud, Kennie slumped and looked to her feet. She hadn't eaten all day, but wasn't hungry. Kennie continued on her walk, holding back a fresh wave of tears.

Something about this tree , he didn't know what it was, but he felt like it was there for a reason. Had to be.. I Mean it was the only moving tree in the place and it did some whomping even to poor little birds. There was something that just lured him to it.. as if it was apart of him, but it was crazy, unless his wand was made from the wood of the tree, whicvh was even crazier idea. He moved away from the tree and continued to walk when he saw Kennie. It had slowly leaked around school what had happened to her. What slime ball could do such a thing. Kennie though two years youner than him was probably one of the most pretiest girls on the grounds, though she never eally payed mind to him, probably due to the age difference, he had noticed her around a few times.. always with the ravenclaw girl and hufflepuff boy , who clearly belonged together... everyone saw that. .. except them apparently. He eventually caught up with Kennie. " Kennie, isn't it." He stated outloud so that his presence would be known. He didn't want to get ot close before talking figuring she might have a reflex. "Where you headed?"

Kennie flinched as she was approached and talked to by whomever this big-shot Gryffindor was. She had even gone as far as drawing her wand, she had been overly paranoid of late. The Slytherins had been twice as bad as usual. Normally verbal taunts didn't bother her, but it seemed the everything about her had changed. For once in her life, she was sick of Hogwarts. How people suddenly started talking very briefly and quietly with her, as if she were on her deathbed. The heads that turned and the whispered rumours that flew about when they thought she wasn't listening. Kennie wanted to go home for Christmas this year. She lowered her wand, but did not put it away. "Just taking a walk," Kennie said hoarsely.

"It's ok.. I'd be on guard too.. I'm sorry.. umm... anyway.. I .. care if I join.. I won't talk or anything.. just walk... I mean I don't have too.. " Why was he stuttering? HE looked down to the ground and then back towards Kennie before looking forward. "Just tell me to go away and I'll go away.. promise.." He felt like he might need to be there for her.. protect her. But the girl was strong enough to protect herself .. that was obvious.

Kennie found herself raising her eyebrows as the older boy began to stutter, what was going on with him? Just from that look about him, the longish brown hair, slight stubble and (what Kennie saw as) a devil-may-care expression, it pointed to arrogance and probably a flirtatious demeanor. Probably a smooth talker, someone who could talk their way out of trouble. That seemed like his type at first glance. Why did he want to go with her? Did he think of her as weak? That she couldn't protect herself because she had gotten raped? Although slightly angered, she did feel slightly anxious about walking by herself. "You can come if you want." Kennie said in her new adopted voice. It was monotone, dull and extremely quiet.

"Ok.." He smiled and looked to the ground. Yes he could be a smooth talker, but around girls he really did like, it sort of just crumbled. If it was fake emotion filled with just passion then he was fine, but on the rare chance he looks to a girl.. and something else than the usual comes to him everything seems not to go out right for him. It was hard to explain, no he had not had a descent conversation with this girl, but he had noticed her form time to time and each time he didn't even realize that he was noticing small details to her personality. He found her fascinating really, but he couldn't just say it. Specially since she didn't really know him and after what she just went through. He decided to stay silent and just walk with her.

Kennie absently drew her hood as the sun shone through the clouds that lay thickly and close to the ground, creating the illusion of fog. She rarely realized that she did this, it was just a reflex or something. The sun was harmful to her especially pale skin. She didn't look at the Gryffindor boy, whatever his name was, or make any attempts at conversation. Right now she just starred at her mud-spattered dress shoes, part of her uniform. Her robes billowed behind her as she walked, creating a slight breeze around her knees where her stockings ended. There was a bit of exposed skin at the knee before her skirt, her knees would frequently become chilled. Kennie emitted a heavy, but small, sigh.

Charles walked next to her silently. His heade keeping infront of him , moved to his own feet or their surroundings every once in a while. For the first few minutes, it was fine walking in silence, but then he began to question the silence. He needed to say something, he wanted to say something, but he wasn't sure what to say and he didn't want her to get the wrong impression of him. Yes the wrong impression would probably be truthful to any other situation, but no he liked the girl and he didn't want to risk anything. Taking off his shades he extended his hand "Here.. have them.. use them.. wear them." His eyes though a beautiful color that should be able to resist light well, couldn't, which was why he wore sunglasses just incase he wanted to look up at the sky, but he didn't need to not today.

What did she need the sunglasses for? Wasn't it clearly obvious that she was looking at the ground, and that her face was in shadow? Or perhaps this Gryffindor boy was overly paranoid that she might stop taking care of herself. She didn't really want the boy's sunglasses, nor need them in spite of the very pale blue shade her eyes were today. Because of her albinism, they sometimes appeared to be purple or red. Those days were when her eyes were the most sensitive. "No thank you," said Kennie, then blinked slowly to ease the stinging in her eyes. It was not because of the light, but because of all the crying, they were too dry. She slumped a little more.

He didn't say anything. He just put the shades back on then he moved them to the top of his head. Maybe she wasn't attracted to guys with long hair, maybe he should cut it? He looked down towards his feet as he continued to walk with the Hufflepuff. He didn't want to say anything ,because he didn't want to come off as creepy or anything like that. Everyone notices other people every now and then, specially if you thought they were pretty. He had heard things about her and some of which he believed and other things he didn't . He smiled slightly and it soon wento ff his face out of nervousness.

Kennie was sick of the silence, but felt that her throat wasn't working properly enough for conversation. Whomever this boy was, he seemed just as socially awkward as she was at the moment. It wasn't always this way before. Kennie had had a knack for knowing what to say and when to say it, but recently, words got lost on their way from her mind to her mouth. She wished that it were Simon or Joey walking beside her, and not what's-his-face. "I don't think we've been introduced," said Kennie, not looking up from her shoes.

"I'm Charlie Height.." He extended a hand in her direction as they continued to walk. His eyes watched the girl carefully. They moved across her light pale skin. Because of the recent incident with her, her face was a little read and he could tell she was still shaken up. She was probably on this walk to clear her mind. Though there were signs of crying and distraught she was gorgeous. All of the sudden he swallowed with a big gulp, he had forgotten to breath for a moment. He probably looked stupid to the hufflepuff. He continued to walk with the girl keeping silent, hoping not to embarrass himself anymore.

Charles Height. A structured name. Only three syllables long, and very typical English sounding. Kennie liked it. Well, she liked him, but didn't feel ready to get involved in a relationship. The truth was, she didn't really trust men in general anymore, apart from Ron Weasley and Simon. She was still wary of Charles, hence why she didn't put away her wand. She shook his hand briefly, then quickly stuck her hand back into her pocket again. "Good to-" Kennie began quietly, but felt her voice failing her. She winced slightly as a throb pulsed in her temples. What she really wanted was sleep, but every time she closed her eyes she saw what had happened all over again.

"Do you want to sit?" He didn't want to tell her that it might be in her best interest to sit down, so instead asked iti n a for ma of question. "Look a tree" He stated point towards the tree not terribly far away from them. He knew she needed to sit, there was something like an aura or something around her. He headed off a bit a head of her, taking his robe off, leaving him in nice jeans, and a nice button down shirt with a black undershirt just appearing out from under it. Placing the robe across the ground so she could sit on it if she would like. He sat on the dirt, over the roots. His back leaning against the treet trunk.
