XxX with the lights out, it's less dangerous here we are now, entertain us XxX
Joey sat up in a tall willow tree branch, swinging her small converses in the air and watching other students running around with their friends. She wasn't quite sure where her friends ran off to, but it was nice having a moment alone. She sighed and leaned her back against the trunk of the tree. Joey could see Cho Chang giggling with her friends. Her eyes narrowed. Boy how she disliked that girl. They were in the same house, but they butted heads. That and the fact that she stole Cedric from her was also a pretty bad blow. Okay, so she didn't really steal him. Her thoughts went to Cedric and seeing his mangled body when Harry Potter came out holding him. It was more heartbreaking than him taking Cho to the Yule Ball. At least he was happy then. Suddenly, she heard footsteps coming up.

"Why do you despise Cho?" He called out as he circled the tree. He had noticed her from a distance watching Cho, that jealousy, sort of hate look was plastered across the girls face. "She never did anything to you." He knew about her crush on Cedric, but he also new that cedric wasn't in love with Cho. Cho might have been fond of him ,but definately wasn't the same way round. He ofcourse wouldn't say anything about it, due to a promise he made to his fellow hufflepuff.
He looked for something he could grab a hold of. Making his way up the tree trunk, he climbed to her level. "Well hello Spider Monkey.. I"ve been looking for you." He gave a smirk to the ravenclaw as he looked towards her. He stood on a branch opposite of the Ravenclaws.
"You missed Potions." He raised an eyebrow waiting for an excuse.

Joey smiled down at her best friend. "You know why I hate her. I hear she went running into the arms of Harry Potter. Figures." She blushed, feeling stupid for even asking this question.
"Simon... did he ever say anything about me?" She asked, not sure if she wanted to hear the answer. Joey was very rarely the girl that guys had the hots for or fell in love with. She was always the friend. "Not that it matters now anyways..." She said in a sad voice.
Joey looked at her best friend and gave him a mishievous smile. "I sort of... didn't finish my homework. So I went to the Hospital Wing and claimed I had a stomach ache. A girl can always get away with that. She even gave me juice and a cookie!" She said with a laugh, wondering if he caught what she meant. "It was a genius move..." She shrugged. Most Ravenclaws were goody goods who were obsessed with their grades. But Joey, although she was practically a genius, preferred a more laid back approach. "What are you up to?"

He smiled towards her and then allowed the friendly smile to disappear. Had Cedric talked about her, he didn't want to answer that question. "I didn't hang out with him a lot. When we did, we didn't really talk about girls." He took a deep breath. Joey would never know his feelings about her. Then again she didn' t seem to see it. Others around them could probably catch a loving glance from his eyes to her, when JOey wasn't looking. HE knew they would and could only be friends, so he wasn't going to say anything. He wasn't going to allow his silly crush to get in the way of their friendship. Even if for some reason she liked him, he didn't want to risk the friendship anyway.
"What do you mean.. what I am up to.. spider monkey." He loved calling her spider monkey. NOt only did she act like a spider monkey at times she was just as adorable. "I"m just hanging otu with my best friend in a tree..as for you missing potions.. you have a lot ot catch up missy." He knew she wasn't one that liked to be called missy, it was just his way of picking on her.

Joey sighed, knowing that was going to happen. Sure, it was because of her that Cedric had won the second task. But maybe he just didn't see her as anything special. She smiled at Simon, taking note of the way he had changed recently. He was growing quite handsome and she had a feeling he'd make some girl very happy one day.
Maybe one day I can be that happy girl. What was she thinking? He didn't see her that way. They were best friends and that was all they could be. She hated the thought of what would happen to their friendship if anything happened.
"Well its a good thing I have you to help me catch up," She said looking at him and batting her long eyelashes playfully and with a grin. She liked when he called her spider monkey. She was a lot like one.... energetic and slightly cheeky. Her patronus was a lemur though, which also complimented her very well.

In his mind the same scene was running, but instead of replying to what she had just said, he simply kissed her. HE snapped out of the htought and looked rowards her and then away towards Cho and the other girls. IT was going to be harder than he thought it would be. The more he tried to tell himself to back off the more he wanted to be near her. HE wonderd if he did the opposite if the results would be the opposite too, but that was too risky. HE looked back to her with his own cheeky grin "Well I am good" He jokingly tooted his own horn. He laughed for a second and then looked around. " What's with you and trees anyway. " She was in a tree the first time they had met. Her hanging upside down to try to mess with his head. HE had been sitting under the tree unaware of her until he decided to look up to see what kept brushing against him or poking his shoulder. She was just hanging upside down with a stick in her hand. Ever since then they had stuck together. He laughed at the memory that ran through his head.

Joey's eyes narrowed....almost in a jealous...no PROTECTIVE manner when Simon looked at Cho. She sighed and shook her head again leaning her head against the trunk as she looked at him. "I know you're good. I just need to know what we did. Chances are that I already read ahead about it anyways," She shrugged.
She laughed with Simon, remembering the first time she met him. Joey had been hiding up in this same tree when they first met and decided to make a bold first impression. So, she hung herself upside down in front of him. She thought he was going to curse him. "I can see everything from up here. This is where I always get my best gossip, you know. No one thinks to look up in the tree before they tell someone their secrets." She wasn't sure why she loved this tree in particular so much. It just made her feel safer than she would feel down on the ground for some reason. "Its a good place to think."

"I'll explain it later." He looked towards his friend and then back to Cho and the gang. "You know I do know for a fact he didn't like Cho..atleast not as much as Cho seemed to like him. BUt that's all i know.." IT wasn't safe for him to admit to his friend that he was the one that actually liked Cho. Cedric's girlfriend couldn't make it.. and it was actually Simon's idea for him to ask Cho, to see what she thought about himself. Cedric never got around to asking Cho. HE was going to set up a little get together so he could be officialy introduced to Cho after the tournament.
"IT is a good tree.. " He said moving his eyes to his best friend. His mind sort of in oblivion. "I mean a good place to think." He smiled, he thought about looking elsewhere for a bit. He figured he didn't want to be seen caught staring at her and if he looked towards the ravenclaws he knew that might make his best friend a bit angry. He really thought it was stupid for her to be so upset with a girl. Simon thought she'd be over it by now.
"How long do you plan on sitting in this tree." He had come to the conclusion it would be better to keep eyes on Joey then look around at others.

"Are you kidding me?! You mean... I thought he..." She sighed banged her head against the trunk slightly. "It doesn't matter anymore." She said quietly, trying to make herself believe that. She was suspicious why Simon seemed to be having trouble as to knowing where to look. She felt a hint of anger.... "I don't see why everyone likes her so much. She just stands around with her group of friends and giggles all the time." She said angrily. Her friends were as annoying as Cho was.
She turned her head and shrugged. "Actually, I need to get out of this tree before I start throwing things at her," She said in a sarcastic tone. "What do you want to do today?" She asked him, trying to get her mind off Cedric, Cho, and the odd feelings she felt towards Simon that she didn't know she had. She kept noticing him glancing over at Cho and her girl instincts kicked in. "Do you like her too?!"
(OOC: LOL its fine xD)

"If I did, then you'd be the last person I 'd tell would You.. I mean due to your hatrid for the girl." He stated with a smirk on his face as he climbed down the tree. Once on the ground. He looked up to her, watching her climb down, he extended his arms to help her down. He knew she could get down on her own. But he felt like he needed to do it. "Slow poke.." He joked as he placed his hands on her waist and lowered her to the ground. "Besides your the only girl in my life right now, and I wouldn't want to like someone you'd disapprove of. Your opinion matters, even if I try to deny it.. It does." He moved to stand on the other side of her. "Walk around the Lake sound good to you?" He asked, his eyes staying in front of him for the most part, he couldn't help to glance at the ravenclaw girls for a moment. Gryffindor girls soon came to join the small group of ravenclaw girls and he just smirked. He was a guy after all.

Joey grinned brightly and nodded, climbing down gracefully and grabbing Simon's arm. She didn't really need his help, but it was nice that he was protective of her. Once she was on the ground, she linked her arms with Simon's, even though he was a good bit taller. "I don't HATE Cho. I just dislike her slightly," She shrugged and motioned him to walk with her. "She's got her eye on Harry Potter, I hear," She said, shaking her head. Not that she was a Harry Potter fangirl like most were, but she couldn't help but admire him a little.
Joey smiled even brighter when he claimed to not like Cho Chang. "Awwww aren't you just...sweet..." She said with a grin as she hugged his waist. It was a playful hug, but she noticed that Simon was starting to develop a little bit of muscle...and he was a lot taller than he was. "What did you do, take a growing potion?!" She asked as she pushed him, grinning. She watched as he grinned over at the group of girls giggling. Joey playfully shoved him a little harder. "You're such a dork." She laughed as she shook her head.

This was why he loved this girl. Just how she was, the playful moments, the way she pouted to get something or even pouted because she was upset. H Smiled and nudged her back . " LAst year, don't y0ou remember, herbology class" They both knew that that didn't happen, it was just his nature to go along with things and sometimes that meant coming up with a crazy story. He was good at coming up with stories. He placed an arm around her, allowing one spot of his arm to gently rest over her shoulder, and his hand extend over it. "Thank you for the complement.. I'm guessing it's a complement right." He smirked. She'd be cute with a hat on. IT was a random thought, which would lead to her next birthday gift. He smiled at the thought and allowed it to fade as his eyes moved from the cute brunette to the gryffindor girls. "Am I ugly or something?" HE looked back to Joey, his arm slipping down to his side.

"And you didn't share?! I wouldn't mind growing at least 3 inches, " She said with a playful pout. Joey and Simon always had their own little world of inside jokes and crazy stories that never came true. He was like her other half and they always seemed to understand each other. He knew her and her quirkiness and she knew him and his....being him. She laughed and leaned her head on his shoulder slightly. "It was a compliment, of course. I like sweet." She said, shrugging.
It absolutely melted Joey when Simon asked if he was ugly. Mostly because he certainly wasn't at all. He was extremely handsome and yet there was so much more to him than that. He was caring and always there for her when she needed someone to talk to. He was one of the few people she actually trusted. "Simon...of course you're not ugly! Why would you ask me something like that?" She hugged him again tighter.

He smiled at her comment and placed a loving kiss on the side of her head, like he would do with his siblings when they did or said something very very thoughtful or upset and he did it to calm them down. When she replied to his words about being ugly, he paused. "Not one girl has hit on me in the last two years or even hinted at liking me.. half of which look at me in disgust. LIke I have a sign on my back or slytherins spread something about me, I don't know why... i brought it up.. let's just ignore that I said that." HE smiled towards the Ravenclaw as they walked near the lakes edge. He smirked as he decided not to think too much and just do. Lifting her up, he held her in mid air, allowing part of her body to rest against his. "What if I Happe to be too weak to hold you up.. and you just so happen to fall into the lake's water. "

Smiling as he kissed the side of her head, Joey raised an eyebrow at him as he complained about not being hit on. "Most girls wait for the guy to hit on them. I don't know why girls wouldn't hit on you if half of them secretly have hots for Draco Malfoy. He's always looked like a ferret to me," She said, wrinkling her nose. "But you... you aren't ugly at all." She then nodded when he said he didn't want to talk about it. She knew that he was a little insecure, but Joey didn't see why he would be.
She felt Simon lift her up and began to look at him in disbelief. She was thinking Weak? Not with those muscles! But instead she looked at him with her eyes narrowed and began kicking. "Nooo. You wouldn't!" She giggled. "Put me down, silly!" Although a swim would be welcomed in this warm weather, she wasn't in her swimsuit or anything. That would be fun to explain to people in the halls.
