I'll sit back
Aliyah sat in the common room, It was Friday night classes where out for the weekend. Everyone was in a good mood, well almost everyone, she was starting to grow tired of this place. It was the same year after year. The same routine day after day. And the same people. Was there anyone here she didn't know? Anyone who could spike her interest? She honestly didn't know. She had no idea how she was supposed to keep her interest for another two years at this place, wasn't 5 enough? There was nothing and no one here left to motivate her.
and I'll watch the show
She watched a pair of 2nd years run by infront of her, they had no idea. Sure it was fun and exciting now, when everythings new and you could still discover new passage ways through the classes. Get an Adrenalin rush trying to sneak around at night. once you hit your 4th or 5th year you don't get that anymore. You know your way around the castle all to well to be worried about getting caught. And as a girl ran after the other two Aliyah casually slipped her foot out, making the girl trip. The girl glared at her over her shoulder, Aliyah sneered right back at her while making a motion to get away. Then she smirked, hell something had to happen tonight.
and I'll lay awake
She turned her gaze from the fire out to the window. She wanted to do something! Something fun! Something out of the ordinary same-old same-old! Isn't there anything new to do? She glanced around at everyone left in the common room who hadn't gone to there dorms yet. Nope, of course not. She then turned her attention to the window.
and I'll watch the stars as they collide

Fixing his hair. Taking a look at the surroundings. The Slytherin Common Room. Joy. Watching young ones fly by having fun with their newly learned magics. Watching the older ones spending time studying for their O.W.L. and N.E.W.T. examinations. Watching the men watch the girls and the women gossip. Yet... no one even glanced at Kolby. Everyone so intent with their lives. As if everyone were as bees or ants... uniformly acting out their puny lives only to learn that they were pawns by a higher power. No individuality. Or so it seemed.
Fridays were always Kolby's worst times. Many students had plans of all sorts. Nonetheless Kolby was without one. Taking a deep breath and a light sigh, Kolby moved on in a light walk to the other side of the common room. Here there were brilliant antique chairs, long, large, brilliant windows, a warming fireplace, and serpent emblems galore.
Finding a comfortable chair, the elder Slytherin flicked his wand, dissipating his cloak and now he is in more comfortable clothes underneath; a black hoodie and skinny jeans with green Converse shoes that had been bewitched to have the Slytherin symbol slither around, coil up, and peer out at any audience.
A light smirk broke his emotionless face as he plopped down, making a light thud. His blue eyes brilliantly shining, he closes them for a few seconds. Thinking. Then clearing his mind. His arms crossed over his chest, he slumped down, opened his eyes slowly, and then noticed Aliyah, with an expression that reveals her being fed up with something. This interested Kolby... until he jumped and went red. Oh shit, what if she saw me? What if she thinks I'm strange?! Did she even notice me? I doubt she did. No one does...
Clearing his throat, Kolby had been silent for far too long. He attempted to speak. A soft, raspy voice slipped through his lips.
"H-H-Hello-" He clears his throat again. I must look like an idiot... "Hey... Um, Haven't seen you around. What year are you?"
Sitting up, putting his attention towards her, he fiddled with the zipper on his hoodie when it struck him... he never introduced himself! He hastily adds in: "Oh, and yeah, I'm Kolby. Kolby Denovan. You've probably never heard about me."
A soft smile breaks his serious face, not a grin or smirk, but a soft smile. This may be the first friend he ever makes... and Kolby won't mess it up. Fixing his black hair nervously, he leaves out a slightly nervous sigh of content.

A soft voice wrenched her from her thoughts, Hmm...someone new. Just what I aksed for.. She thought to herself. "Me? Just a 5th year, a 5th year who's is utterly tired of this place. And you?" She questioned. Then she saw his smile. Not a smirk, a grin or anything of the sort. A soft, geniune smile. A Slytherin who hasn't smirked at her upon meeting her? Now that's a first.
"Aliyah, Aliyah Taylor," She said with a smile. Kolby, huh? "No, I can't say I have heard of you. But that is good because I'm looking for something new." Her blue yes locked with his, she could see he was fiddling out of the corner of her eye. Nervous? Uncomfortable? A mixture of the two?
She stuck her small, pale hand out, in hope of a handshake. A new friend? Even though many Slytherins couldn't ven consider anyone else a friend. They where way too proud and independant for that. But this boy seemed different.

Just a fifth year? Interesting. The first comrade I may ever have will be younger than him and female. Unexpected... but I won't complain.
"Ah, I'm a Seventh Year actually. Last year here... thank Merlin. I'm also sick of this place. The catch is..."
Gulping a bit, it felt wonderful to be able to express his troubles out loud. Looking to the floor, he continued.
"... I really am not sure if I'll have a place to go after Hogwarts... or if I'll even live a normal life, ever. It's so complicated, and so far no one really is interested, nor do I care about them if they are, about my story... but I don't know..."
Sighing a bit hard, he mumbled out "I don't even know myself anymore..."
Looking back to her, he listened to her contently. Their eyes locking. His voice a bit soft and quiet for a Slytherin, but of course he doesn't practice using his voice all too much.
"No one ever does really hear about me. I don't... socialize. At all."
Watching her movements, he recognized her hand coming out for a handshake. This definitely was all new to him. He sheepishly let a hand out, hoping he does everything correctly. He never was allowed to do a lot of things incorrectly...
Grasping her hand lightly, he moves it up and down lightly, smiling and half laughing as he does it.
Why the hell am I laughing? It isn't funny... but it is fun to do! I've never done this before... but I can't let her know that...
Letting go of her hand, he puts his hands in the pockets of his hoodie, stretching it out a bit to make his arms straight, and then he stretches himself. Loosening back up, he heard a noise coming from his shoes! He forgot about his bewitched shoes! Taking a quick glance down at his Converse shoes, he notices the snakes hissing and slithering all around as if excited. Were they reflecting his mood? Kolby quickly looked back up to Aliyah.
"Pleasure to meet you though, nonetheless."

"A 7th year? God am I jelous..." She sighed as though dreaming she was a 7th year. "I'll listen!" She declared, "I'll be the one you can talk to." She listened, staring at him with a a look of almost sadness in her eyes. No friends? For seven years? How could he do it? She wouldn't have been able to. She wouldn't have come back here, Slytherins are harsh enough to people they don't see every morning. Could you imagine waking up to that every morning? She wouldn't have been able to.
She gave him a big smile. This kid needs to have some fun...Some nice rule-breaking fun. She thought to herself, standing up she took his hand, and urged him to follow her through the portrait hole. Not caring about the looks she was getting, she sneered right back at them and giving quiet a few of them the finger. "C'mon, let's go have some fun!"
She stopped a few steps down the hall, "Wait, what do you like to do? Anything in praticular?"

"Jealous for what? Leaving this place? At least you'll have a home or something to go to..."
A stare of curiosity was now filling up the conversation. She wanted to listen? Nonsense... Who would care to listen? Kolby at times doesn't even care. Not knowing where to start, he twiddled his thumbs nervously, asking the most obvious, needed question. His eyes filled with an unknown feeling.. Fear? Excitement? Curiosity?
"What are your views on- erm, the..." A pause. Should he ask this? A battle was going on within himself to continue. He was a Slytherin, a damn Slytherin! How dare he be unsure whether to talk about this!
"What are your views on the Dark Lord? My family is entangled in with him!" Said Kolby, his soft voice gone and a serious tone replacing it. "My Aunt is my care-taker and she is a loon for the guy... Mum died on a mission for him soon after I was born and Father was in conflict whether to become one or not... then Auntie tortured and killed him... for my protection, she said." Mimicking a high, shriek, scary voice, "No relative of mine shall be brainwashed by weak bastards! If I ever catch you thinking of joining the hag Dumbledore or any enemies of the Dark Lord I'll wring your- blah blah blah blah!"
A deep, frustrated sigh left his lips. The timid boy glanced at his fellow Slytherin with a bit of annoyance in his body language.
"I dunno' what to do. It's bloody annoying! I go home to being yelled at and the Dark Lord shoved down my throat and then come here to have him bashed! What do you think?"
But before he could react, he was being pulled abruptly out of of the Common room and into the Corridor, being interrogated. His face went slightly red as he looked around... replying in a low, soft, quiet voice.
"I like to... eum... Research, study... Experiment. I told you, I don't socialize."
His white face tilted up, looking towards her, their eyes locking. This is all new to him, a novel experience if anything. He smiled a bit and chuckled while speaking, knowing this was foolish to say but blurted it out nonetheless, "What is there to do then at this hour?"

"Yes, I'm jelous to leave this place! It's dreadfully boring! I want something new and exciting! I want to take part in changing the world!" For better or for worse...She just wanted to be in something that would go down in history. Being good or bad, it didn't matter to her.
"The Dark Lord? My views on it are almost indifferent. I would join if I was old enough but if I don't then, I guess hell, it wasn't for me,right?" She watched him, it was almost as though he wanted her to help him make the decision of him joining the death eaters or not.
"That's what the world's filled with. Hypocricy. You need to get used to it. No matter where you go someone will be puching one thing on you when another is bashing it." She told him with a comforting smile. Was it right? No. Was it fair? No. Was it nice to think about? No. But it was the truth.
She eyed the red tint coming across his cheeks. How cute, this is the first time I've ever seen a Slytherin blush... "What is there to do at this hour?" She asked, looking at him with amusement in her eyes, "Everything! There is everything and anything to do at this hour!"
"The real question is, what are you willing to do at this hour?"

"Hmm..."
Take part in something to change the world? Such a daunting task... but Kolby was done on this matter. He nodded on her hypocrisy comment and smiled a bit. Unsure of how to reply, he merely followed her out into the corridor. ((Haha we have 2 places at once!))
"Where would I like to go? Hm..."
Where oh where! Kolby thought long and hard over this... quite a formidable thought indeed. Rubbing his forehead, his long black bangs getting in the way once in awhile, he came up with a place.
"The grounds? I love the night. Especially outside, quite a glorious site if you ask me. How do we get out into the grounds though? I imagine it'd be terribly difficult!"
(Sorry for the so-so replies. I'm trying to think of something to really write about... and it's blocking out what I should be focusing on. I'm still developing his story in my mind and what his future will be! So this is good a great stepping stone and testing the waters! Plus I need food. Sorry for the long OOC, but I think you need a bit of an explanation. Sorry!)

She bit her lip, her bright eyes traveling upwards as she thought. The Grounds? So he was a little rule breaker. She thought with a small smile. She had been expecting him to say somewhere in the castle but nope! He had surpassed her expectations.
She had gone out to the grounds before at night. But it was always left to dumb luck and a ver stupid squib, honestly how could anyone feel a 100% safe when they know that Filch is the one locking up the castle at night? It deffinatly did not comfort her any. But hell, if anyone was to break in it'd be the Death Eaters and the absoulute last house they'd go to for trouble was Slytherin. Hell, they'd go there for support and passwords.
"Well, if Filch left the castle doors unlocked then we'll be lucky, but if not then I guess the Astronomy tower so we could look at the grounds and the stars." She loved to watch the stars from the Astronomy tower, a lot less of a chance of getting caught then going to the actual grounds. and a very nice view.

Putting his hands in his hoodie, stretching it a bit, he grew a mischievous smirk. Seeing the reaction of her face, he kind of flaunted a bit, his voice sounding a bit aristocratic. "I am in Slytherin, I like a bit of dangerous fun."
He doubted they would get caught. Throughout his years at Hogwarts rarely anyone gets caught or security heightened to an extremity. Basilisks, Death Eaters, Voldemort... the school added a few spells and guards but yet it seems people could move freely in and out of the school to the grounds if they were crafty enough. Being Slytherin, these two students were more than sly.
Upon hearing Filch's name, Kolby couldn't help but let out a laugh. The usually blank faced student looked bright and smiling for once. Filch? Filch is a joke, the squib. He couldn't even use magic if he wanted. Why is he the caretaker of the building itself?
Then hearing about the Astronomy tower... that is a nice place to be. Never going there all too much, Kolby now felt more eager towards the Astronomy Tower than the Grounds, but all were more than suitable for him.
"Filch is nothing but a filthy Squib. He couldn't harm me-er-us even if he tried." A dark grin overcame Kolby. His aunt was an expert in one thing; The Dark Arts. She was also Kolby's mentor in all of his knowledge of the Dark Side of magic... oh was it easy for Kolby to use.
Looking around the corridors, seeing nobody around, he turned around to face Aliyah rather calmly, their pale skin radiating in the lightly lit corridors.
"Well, why not try the grounds? The Astronomy Tower is always appealing though. I agree."
His shoes were slithering and lightly hissing, checking out the area they can see. It was rather humorous to glance down to see slithering snakes on someone's shoes, especially ones with personality. Kolby swayed a bit back and forth, thinking of this little adventure him and his new friend will be having rather than his future or his internal conflict and even choices. All that mattered now was the moment!
Though it was rather odd, the stone corridors were empty, and only the shadows of the candles and torches kept the innards of the castle lit. It was a beautifully eerie sight that Kolby adored. His stunning blue eyes checking out every last inch impressed with the mysterious look the castle always radiated.

There was the confidence that got him into this house, she had been wondering if he had any what so ever since she met him. Once again he proved her wrong.
She watched him laugh, which made her giggle lightly in return.
"C'mon then!" She exclaimed, aking his hand and pulling him down the corridor. He was right what in the world was Filch gonna do? They could run from him if need be. She peered around the corner before walking around it with him. They didn't really have to worry about snape catching them, Snape hated to put his own students in detention and has yet to see him take points away from his own house without the pressure of another teacher.

Listening to her giggle along side the dark haired Slytherin only caused even more of a smile. True, Slythering usually were not the true best friend types, but it seemed that every so often that a Slytherin would be a normal teenager. This day, Kolby believed, may be his day... and possibly Aliyah's?
Feeling a soft hand pulling him along, through the stone corridors, their steps echoing slightly, Kolby only filled with a rush of excitement and happiness. This is so new... So different... So fun.
The two mischievous Slytherins were zig-zagging through the corridors, heading towards the big olden doors that led to the outside grounds of the ancient school.
So far so good, no professors or Prefects around. Oh how lucky it was, truly astonishing. Kolby took a glance over to Aliyah, her pale features and typical "Slytherin" look matched the one of Kolby. Laughing a bit, he spoke softly.
"Heh, seems the wonderful guarding of this school is really paying off, eh? Well, shall we head off? Anything we need to do before hand? Hm... strange though, that no one has been around!"
Giving a huff of air, he smiled lightly and looked around, fixing his hair and playing with his tongue piercing, his light skin radiating along with Aliyah's.

She watched him, he was so....different. It was attracting her and caused an almost pull to him for her. She always loved something new something different. Would this be the boy that was so different he could satisfy her crave for difference? Maybe, maybe not. How she hoped he was though. She was watching him for so long she nearly ran into the entrance doors, causing her to laugh.
She immediatly brought her free hand to her lips, covering them to where hardly any sound escaped. "I don't need anything, Strange?" Yes, it was strange. but was she complaining. No. She was glad the two of them where so lucky.
Hearing the soft echoe of footsteps slightly far off, but she knew they'd be arriving to the front doors in due time. She urged him forward with their locked hands. She noticed a little ball on his tongue, she'd be sure to ask him about that latter.
Pushing the door open, just small enough for the two of them to slide through, before shutting it bhind her with a muffled click. As she ducked into the corner by the door, pulling him into its shadow with her.

Swish
Fresh air swept the young Slytherin's faces, causing goosebumps and chills. The night's air was cold and daunting yet nothing was stopping Kolby or Aliyah, as Kolby assumed, now. Being out, the smell of the lake, the forest, the air, the grass. Nature seemed to come alive. The smell of pine and man other trees, the smell of fresh water near by, the smell of grass and flowers... so different than the scent of Hogwarts, which was a odorless odor. The moon was brilliant, crescent yet booming with light. It caused the scenery around them to light up as well, and a candle in the dark it seemed. The adrenaline was rushing as Aliyah and Kolby were hiding alongside of the wall. The click was loud but not terribly booming. That's it? That was nothing! Grabbing Aliyah gently, he drug her off towards a tree that the moonlight illuminated directly under. It was ghastly beautiful, haunting, and yet everything a Slytherin could ask for. Plopping himself down, he gestured Aliyah to sit with him. The grass was soft and comfortable. The tree even felt good on his back. Their pale bodies illuminated as well, causing Kolby to laugh lightly. His smile also made a presence. Their blue eyes brilliantly showing, he await Aliyah to sit down with him.
His mind thought of nothing of his life, just Aliyah and him. It was the strangest feeling, but he enjoyed every minute with her. He craved her friendship, but also it seemed she craved something of him. A connection seemed to be slowly unfolding, and Kolby enjoyed the emotions involved. Biting his bottom lip, he stared up at the moon, smiling, his teeth showing.

A quiet laugh escaped her lips, barely reaching to their ears as they ran to the tree. It was gorgeous, to say the least. It provided a nice view to the lake. She loved the moonlight, she loved everything about it how almost chilling it was, dangerous and daring. Yet at the same time it was beautiful and inviting.
She sat down next to him, her knees bent to her chest. She cast a glance to him, her hair covering half of her face as she did so. His smile was exciting to her. It wasn't anything but innocent in her eyes, a 7th year Slytherin, or any Slytherin for that matter, with an innocent smile. Now that was hard to come by.
She pulled her self onto her knees, the grass felt almost good against her bare skin as she faced her body to him. "I noticed you playing with it earlier, Do you mind if I see it?" She questioned, gesturing toward her mouth. She'd never seen anyone up close with a tongue ring, it spiked her curiosity. She didn't really care at this point if she looked dumb, ditzy or whatever. She didn't exactly care how things would be perceived tomorrow. She'd live now and worry about what came after this then.
