Harry climbed the stairs to the owlery alone. He was tired, and it showed. He had yet to have a night when his dreams weren't punctured by horrible nightmares, seeing Cedric get killed again and again. Harry's skin had gotten a bit paler, and seemed to have a thin, parchment-like quality to it, dark circles were beneath his tired-looking green eyes.
Harry sighed as he pushed the door open, the sun was barely rising to the east, it was just a thin sliver of brilliant gold on the horizon. There were still patches of inky black sky where they stars still shone, but blue was beginning to take over. A mist hung thickly around the grounds, Harry had never really stopped to think about how impressive the grounds looked in the early mornings. A snowy white owl fluttered down to his shoulder. "Hello Hedwig," Harry said sleepily. She affectionately nipped his finger.

Ginny wandered in with a small envelope in her hand. She was going to see if the family owl would be up for a flight back home. of course it did seem to get lost all the time. As she headed up stairs nothing dealing with people was on her mind. In the back of her head, her brain was trying to figure out how she should organize her day. After all Ginny did have a lot of homework. When she reached her destination alone. a warm smile came over her and not just her face. she quickly hid the smile and tossed the feeling out the window. It wasn't in the cards and she knew it.
"Hello Hedwig... Harry" She didn't go towards Harry and HEdwig instead she went around the circle of bird cages in the middle of the room and ended up on the other side of harry and hedwig. taking out a treat, she gently raised her hand and allowed hedwig to take it from her. "What brings you here harry?"

Harry had been absently stroking Hedwig, staring out into the thick mist, it seemed to be like a blanket over the grounds. It got thinner as they day went on, but if you observed from a big enough height, you could still see it there. He rubbed his left eye beneath his glasses, feeling tired, but knowing that it was too late in the morning to go back to bed and be able to wake up in time for breakfast. It was unfortunate, as he was tired. But if he went back to sleep, he would probably find himself in that graveyard again, see Cedric get hit by the Avada Kedavra curse...
"Oh, erm- hello Ginny." Harry said awkwardly, he had not been expecting someone else to be there, and so, it had taken his brain longer than usual to process that someody else was in the room. He felt stupid. Harry wondered where Ron and Hermione were. He figured that they were both still asleep, their dreams pleasant and painless. Harry envied them. It had been a long time since he had not woken up from a sleep in a cold sweat, entangled in his sheets. And now along with the dreams about Cedric, there were ones about a corridor, an iron door at the end... "Nothing, really," said Harry.

"harry you know you can tell me anything right?" Ginny gave him a concerned looked. she knew him, and it hurt her so much more than he would ever know to see him in such a state. it was showing on his face and in his posture. something was up and harry wasn't telling her. she wondered if ron or hermione knew. she looked towards her bird and smiled. it was old and senile, but she loved the bird so much, she wouldn't ever replace him. moving over to the owl, she placed her hand against the feathers then at the tip of its beak. feeding it, ginny tied a note to it's leg. 'bring it to mom and dad. thank you.' she told the owl and then moved her head to watch harry for a moment.

Hedwig rubbed her head against his ear, then spread her wings to go back up to her usual perch in the rafters. Harry watched as she tucked her head beneath her wing and drifted off to sleep. If only Harry's sleeping would come that easily, he might lie in bed, staring at the top of his four-poster for half the night, only to go to bed and find himself back in the graveyard, or that mysterious corridor. His dreams were unnerving him, and for the first time, he felt a bit frightened. But Harry wasn't about to bother Dumbledore, or Sirius. They both had much more important things to worry about right now than his petty dreams. He could handle this on his own, perhaps get Hermione to make a potion for him...
"What?" Harry said rather stupidly as he jerked out of his thoughts when Ginny began to speak. "Oh, erm- Yeah, of course I know that." He probably could approach her with his worries about his dreams, but that would make him feel even more ridiculous than what he felt right now. Although Harry liked Ginny very much, she was probably one of the last people he would think of approaching for advice. Harry would much rather send Hedwig with a letter to Sirius asking for advice, it seemed less intimidating to ask questions indirectly than face-to-face with someone. Harry frowned slightly, leaning against the windowsill and looking out onto the grounds once more.

She exhailed as she watched the boy, it was llike his mind was really deep elsewhere. Harry had been through alot these last years and she could guess what was on is mind. She didn't know how much it was troubling the boy, but she knew him enough to know it wouldn't go away any time soon. SHe moved back over towards him and Hedwig. Running the back of her hand gently against Hedwigs feathers, her eyes moved from the bird to harry and back to the bird. "Harry, you did everything you could.. " Ginny then moved towards the boy and placed her arms around him in a hug, which felt a little awkward, but he seemed to need it. "Everything will be fine" Cedric was a very cute boy and his death hit everyone that knew him hard, but Harry couldn't keep blaming himself. Ginny continued to hug Harry until she thought ti was best to let go of the troubled boy.

Harry felt extremely weird as Ginny hugged him, like it shouldn't be happening. For once in his life he was thankful that Ron wasn't in the room with him, there was no telling how he'd react to it. But a hug wasn't exactly what he wanted that moment. Harry just couldn't find the will to push Ginny away at the moment, but he didn't hug her back, either. He just stood there awkwardly until one of his few friends released him. Harry sighed as she began to speak. Nobody quite understood how he felt. They had not been down in the maze, or watched Cedric fall dead to the ground. They didn't know what it was like. Who was Ginny to say that it wasn't his fault.
He ran a hand through his black hair, making it stand up momentarily. It then fell back into place. Untidy and sticking up all over the place, like always. Harry supposed that was his father's genes. Or at least he could figure from the pictures. Lily had perfectly straight hair, not wild hair like James. But now wasn't the time to think about such matters. Harry returned to leaning against the sill for a moment. After a moment, he turned back to face Ginny. "No, it won't, Ginny," Harry said, refraining from lashing out too much on her. "I told him to take the cup with me. I practically killed him myself." He was not going to stick around for the "don't talk like that"s and the "no you didn't"s. Harry walked to the door of the owlery.

"Harry Wait" she had allowed him to walk towards the door and didn't say anything till he almost left. She had been trying to gather the right words. "You didn't know, none of us knew. You did the right thing letting him share the win, and that says something...your a good guy harry and you shouldn't be blaming yourself. " She took a deep breath and lowered her head as her eyes began to grow watery. "YOu brought him back.." She looked up a tear forming at the edge of her eye. "You brought him back.. " A few tears ran down her cheeks. "Stop it... just..stop it.. stop.." She wiped the tears with her arm and walked fast, going around Harry to get to the staircase. Moving fastly down the stairs, she tripped on the fourth to last steps, falling down the remaining stairs he landed on the floor. She couldn't take it anymore. It was a devastating things, yes, but harry didn't know, no one knew. She moved to sit up and realized her wrist was sprained. Her mind didn't grasp the pain yet, due to the fact she was angry and upset as well as confused. She hated feeling this way.

Harry had opened his mouth to reply, but Ginny had already ran out, tears streaming down her face. He smacked himself on the forehead, he could never get anything right, could he? He paced back and forth in the owlery for a few minutes, debating on whether he should go down to breakfast or try to figure out where Ginny had run off to. Harry felt anger bubbling up within him once more, looking for the closest outlet to vent it on before he did something entirely stupid. He made a fist and punched the wall with as much force as he could possibly muster. Harry gasped in pain, perhaps he should have thought about hitting something else, he certainly felt stupid now.
He shoved his hand into his robe pocket to hide the fact that he had injured himself, he would deal with that himself later. Or get Hermione to fix it. Harry decided that he would go and find Ginny. He walked down the steps to find her looking ruffled and sitting on the floor. Did she fall? thought Harry. Deciding that now it was the time to make it up for being idiotic, Harry sat beside her, ignoring the pain in his injured hand. "Erm-" Harry said. "You all right, Ginny?" He felt completely awkward, but hopefully it would clear his name to do this. His hand throbbed, Harry decided that he wasn't going to mention it.

"Fine.. Harry.." She stated as she stood up. She moved her arm down, and made no sound or look that might suggest she was hurt. She'd go to the infirmary after she could get away from potter. After which she would have to make sure her brother wouldn't find out. "And you?" She couldn't feel any tears on her face, which was good. She didn't want harry seeing her cry, she didn't want anyone to see her cry. She hid the pain in a fake smile. "I Know your not alright harry, but you brought him back.. you did good. You've saved me in the past among other good things which many are thankful for. I won't say I know what your going through, cause I don't. BUt you need to see the good before the bad overcomes you." SHe tooka deep breath and looked down and then back towards harry. "Sorry.. I" Apparently all of that had been built up for a while, for her to be able to blurt it all like she did. "Guess i've been around Hermione too much." She smirked with a light ha.

Harry gave a feeble attempt at a smile, perhaps Ginny was right, but it would be a hard journey. He really ought to get his hand fixed, it kind of hurt. No, not kind of, but the scream out in pain kind of feeling. "Perhaps," said Harry. He kept his hand deep within his pocket. Harry stood up, trying to move his hand as little as possible. He looked down at Ginny, and had a sudden feeling that he was gazing upon a fallen angel... Harry shoved those thoughts from mind, now was really not the appropriate time for that. He offered his non injured hand to help her up. Harry clenched his teeth while keeping his expression neutral to hide the pain. "C'mon, they should have breakfast ready, I'll walk with you." Harry said.

She smiled lightly, trying not to move her own right hand. It hurt every time she would move it, and that was just a slight move. "Thanks." For someone reason she felt safe near Harry, and yet weird at the same time. Of course she would never admit to harry, and she did her best to not show her attraction. OF course Draco had made fun of her a few years back about being Harry's girlfriend. She wondered if her brother knew how much she liked Harry. Even as much as she convinces her self that there will be no her and Harry, everytime she got near him, everytime someone mentioned him all the feelings rushed back. "What do you think they are serving for breakfast?"

Harry pulled Ginny to her feet, then stuck his hand back into his pocket, as not to make it seem weird that he had only one of his hands free. He started walking at a slow pace, Harry had never really been much a fast walker, unless he knew that he was going to be late if he didn't hurry up. His thoughts wandered to the most recent of the disturbing dreams, just before he had woken up earlier that morning. As per usual, he ha returned to the graveyard, but that portion had been cut short. Harry had once again found himself in that long corridor, the iron door at the end. This had been recurring for several nights, and it unnerved him. What could it mean? What was the importance behind that door? What was it about that dream that made his scar prickle uncomfortably? "Erm- no idea," said Harry.

She took a deep breath, it was hard not to move her wrist or hand this way. IT was natural for her arms to want to swing a little while she walked. She didn't say anything, wasn't really sure what to say. IT was weird being alone with Harry. That was when she recalled something. "OH.. I almost forgot. She stopped and faced him. Looking towards him for a only a moment, he r eyes moved towards the bag across her shoulder. Pulling out a book, she opened it as she talked. "This 7th year, was a bit reluctant to give this up, but knew you'd want it.. said he found while doing detention. " Her hand moved for the photograph flipping it over as she handed it to Harry. After which she closed her book and put it up. "Wasn't really sure why, until I Looked at the picture . I swear Harry, he looked like " She moved to point him out on the picture. "Sirius." She watched his reaction, if he might have one.
"I wanted to get another look to just make sure.. and when I looked up he was gone... anyway.. He told me you'd want it.." The picture contained his father, remus, sirius and lily. during their student years. Probably around the age of 17 in the picture. She wasn't sure if she should have told him all that, maybe just giving him the picture and allowing him to find out somehow on his own there was a look alike to his godfather. "My eyes were probably mistaken.." She added on after a moment of silence. She felt very weird now, so she continued her walk to the Great Hall

Harry took the book from Ginny in the hand that he had not used to punch the owlery wall, a bit confused as to why the seventh year had wanted to give it to him. He gazed upon the photograph on the page that she had opened it up to. Smiling back up at him were his parents in their teen years, laughing along with a boy that had long hair, Sirius. Harry frowned a bit as Ginny mentioned that the seventh year had looked like Sirius. Harry knew that his godfather never had any children, but he was described as being the "ladies man..." What Harry wouldn't give for that kind of ability.
