Anyone passing by could tell see that they were both glowing to be near each other. Of course, they couldn't see it themselves. Joey sighed and yawned, feeling herself about to fall asleep. Her long eyelashes kept fluttering like little butterfly wings. She laid a hand on his stomach gently. As he spoke softly, she smiled and grinned mischievously. "Herbology and Potions. Yet again you have made my whole day, Simon," She said with a giggle. It was true that she wasn't too fond of Herbology. It just bored her and as much as she loved plants, she didn't like learning all about them. She liked for them to be a little more mysterious.
And as for Potions, she just got tired of Snape always yelling at her even though she made perfect potions. He would constantly yell at her for wearing her converses with her robes, even though he gave up giving her detentions about them. She wasn't going to start wearing those ugly dress shoes that everyone else wore. Eventually, Joey lost her battle with her fluttering eyes and gave in. She soon fell asleep silently.

He smiled as he listened to her. He could feel her pulse against his, it was a bit rapid more than usual, but it slowed down soon after. "Joey" he said softly, with no reply. She had fallen asleep and he was on the verge of falling asleep. It's not like this was the first time, she had fallen asleep next to him. There were times he would have to comfort her and she'd fall asleep in his arms and vice versa. They really were like each others security blankets. He hummed a soft tune and looked up. Barbie and him weren't as close as him and Joey. It was extremely weird to try to talk to that girl. He always felt like he and Barbie were competing for Joey's attention.. both not trying to be the third wheel.

Last thing Joey remembered was hearing Simon humming a tune into her ear. It was lovely and made her feel peaceful. He always made her feel at peace. He comforted her often. During the Yule Ball when she wouldn't go and after she would have that same dream. At least, it was a brief bit of peace. It seemed like Joey's nightmares were coming back again. What she believed was her mother's death. Of course, she didn't remember seeing it. She was a baby. But her dreams remembered, apparently. She was found in a closet, but it was apparent she saw what happened. Joey was one of the few that could see the Thestrals.
The dream was exactly the same as it usually was. The screams, the evil laugh, and the flash of light. The flash of light was always what made her wake up, which was the instance this time. She woke up with a gasp and looked up at Simon. As soon as she saw his face, she calmed down a little more. You'd think after years of having the dream, it would get less disturbing. But it was her mother's scream that scared her. Her only memory of her mother's voice at all. She was extremely lucky to have her godmother... and Simon...and Kennie. She loved her two best friends equally and she knew they would compete for her attention all too often. She really didn't like it, but she didn't know what to do about it. "Simon...it was the dream again...." She said sadly. The dream had started to come all too often lately now that Voldemort was back as well as Cedric's death seemed to awaken it again.

He was in a light sleep when he felt Joey's body move. It wasn't like she was just shifting in her sleep, no. It was like she had been jerked out of sleep. His eyes stayed shut, but his lips moved, to allow a soft comforting voice escape his lips. "Everything is fine.. your here.. with me.. in an infirmary... your safe.." His voice became more hushed. He opened his eyes, but they just shut again. It took a few times , and a couple of blinks before his eyes would stay open.
"Maybe it means something.. maybe you should talk to the headmaster or a teacher..." He hated to see her like this, shaken. He ran his hand across her shoulder and then arm. Simon ran his hand back and forth against her arm, in a comforting manner. HE stayed silent for a moment and his eyes closed once more. Soon after you could hear his words again. Except he wasn't speaking, he was lightly singing. The words he sang lightly were in Italian. It was a lullaby he saind to Joey when she needed comforting or help trying to sleep. THey had slept in the towers before, she would wake from a dream and it would end with her singing. Ofcourse Barbie was there too but she slept heavy.

No, no, no. Not Simon. Kennie had just gotten the news from Professor McGonagall, after being in the library for ages trying to produce a satisfactory Avis charm. She was too shocked by the news for it to register that her friend could be fatally injured. Kennie had gathered up her things in thirty seconds flat and shoved them into her bag before taking off. A Quidditch accident, that couldn't be good. She had sprinted all the way from the library to the infirmary, which had taken long amount of time, considering that she had forgotten to jump a vanishing stair and had to be rescued by a Gryffindor sixth year. That had been embarrassing. She pushed open the door to the infirmary and continued to run.
She stopped at the end of the bed that Joey and Simon were sharing. She blushed even harder (as her cheeks were still rather pink from being pulled out of the vanishing stair), then drew her hood to cover it. This was also in part to the large window at the end of the infirmary that let in a more than ample amount of sunlight, and she didn't want her un-pigmented skin to burn. Kennie panted heavily, her hair that was barely lighter than her skin was falling into her face. She dropped her bag on the floor, then gave a sigh of relief. Simon was all right, he looked a little worse for wear, but that was something that Madame Pomfrey could easily treat. "What happened, Simon?" Kennie said quietly.

His Italian singing came to a stop as 'Barbie' ran into the room. " She had the dream again." He naturally replied ,thinking she was asking about Joey. After all he was just singing to her gently and she was laying in the bed. He kept his voice soft, not only just because he was in the infirmary, but to show Kennie to calm her voice down, so that it might not make Joey's heart beat pick up. "I can try to scooch over you can get on the other side if you want to join us.." He smiled warmly towards his third friend. He wondered what was really running through Kennie's mind at the moment. His eyes slowly closed "Or you can just sit.." he said patting the free space near his right leg. "Just don't touch my right leg.. it's still healing."

Kennie frowned within the shadows of her hood at the mention of "the dream." She had figured that it was a pretty scary thing for Joey to go through. But it had to mean something, otherwise it wouldn't recur, right? Perhaps her best friend was some variation of a Seer, but not a full one. That ought to be frustrating. But she couldn't help but give a small, half-hearted laugh. Simon could be downright thick at times. Not that Kennie was the smartest one of the bunch, but sometimes being around Simon made her feel just a tiny bit smarter. She sat on the edge of the bed, being wary of Simon's leg. She knew that interfering with Healing could produce terrible things.
"I was asking about you, Sarima," Kennie said, now smiling a bit, with a roll of her eyes. Her eyes were strange. The palest blue that one could imagine. Some days there was scarcely enough pigment in them to cover up the blood vessels behind the irises, making them look almost purple, or sometimes even red. Kennie had horrible vision, a common trait in those with albinism, but was corrected through a series of enchantments and potions as a young child. Because of her recent heavy blushing, her eyes looked very purple at the moment, but it was hard to notice with her hood drawn to protect her face from the sun pouring in to the room.

He looked towards the ravenclaw making sure she was either falling asleep or not looking. He mouthed the words " Sabotage.. A curse on me, the broom.. something .. don't know.. " He then allowed his voice to come out of his mouth, because he didn't need to hide what he was about to say from the girl he secretly would marry. Did he just think 'marry'. He nocked the idea out of his head, and called himself stupid for the thought before he talked. "I lost control of the broom, then I became unconcious and I fell off my broom. But I am all right." He closed his eyes, though he didn't go to bed, he just wanted to rest his eyes. "I think the nursegave me something to help me sleep.. along with bone repair and some other liquid that she didn't tell me what it was..." He wondered if he had been cursed, but why would someone want to curse him. He took a deep breath, exhailing through his nose. Simon looked back to Joey with concerned eyes. He knew that he would never really understand the things she saw, but he knew someone that might be able to. Not only that, but his own normal dreams would probably make slytherins hide. He had not described any of his dreams not to Kennie and not to Joey, no one. He did get confronted by Kennie once in the commons. He had woken up in a sweat, apparently he had screamed and talked in his sleep.. Led to others waking up, to wake him up. He could remember Kennie trying to get information out of him, and he wouldn't.
" Barbie.. if the only reason your in here is to see if i'll be able to play the next game, I'm sorry to disappoint you but I will." He stated sarcasticly. It was just how they communicated. He wasn't sure why, but he couldn't see himself interacting with her any other way. She was smart, and he knew it, but he wondered if Kennie realized how smart she actually was, but maybe it was a good thing she didn't know how smart she was. He liked to pick on her for her sharpness and the nickname Barbie was not because she acted like a Blond, but was more along the lines of being skinny, beautiful, and well known whether she knew that or not.

Joey smiled as Simon sung her the lullaby he alway sung to her when she couldn't sleep. She didn't know what the dream could be saying, if it was saying something. "I don't know," She said weakly. Talking to the headmaster or a professor would be a bit tricky and probably pointless. "There isn't much to the dream. Its just the screams that bother me. And the laugh afterwards," She shuddered and tried to relax again. She saw Kennie making her way towards them and smiled a bit, staying quiet as the two conversed.
She shook her head as Kennie walked in with her hood up. Joey hadn't noticed how bright the sun was shining around them. She looked up at Simon and saw that his face...was quite perfect. She shook that thought out of her head. "I'm fine...really. At least the dream can't hurt me." She shrugged weakly. The dream always seemed to make her weak. Like it was draining some kind of energy from her. "I need coffee," She murmured. People often snubbed their noses at the thought of coffee. Her godmother was brought up in America but moved to England and so Joey was brought up under a unique roof. One where she loved coffee and muggle rock music and wore converses. Kennie often teased her about it.

"Well, I'm glad you'll be able to play," said Kennie, a bit shocked that Simon had said that he would disappoint her by being there. "We haven't got a reserve Seeker dung-brain." She was relieved that Simon was all right, the rumours flying around the halls were crazy. But Kennie supposed that the whisperings amongst her peers were always a bit over-embelished. She was now just starting to catch her breath after running all the way from the library. She emitted a quiet sigh. A curse? Kennie could read lips fairly well. That could not be good, it might effect Simon further if not taken care of properly. But Kennie trusted Madame Pomfrey's judgement. She was the Healer, after all. This still didn't stop her from frowning slightly. Curses were typically associated with Dark Magic, like it or not, there were foes among them.
Kennie shook her head lightly at the mention of Joey "needing" some coffee. She never got the point of the stuff, she much preferred a glass of pumpking juice with breakfast, afternoon tea, and milk with supper. That was the way that she always did things. Kennie liked routine. She didn't like to stray too far from it, perhaps it was part of her OCD. Needing order and randomness being completely thrown out of the picture. "Do you actually need coffee?" said Kennie was a small smile. "It's not good for you, you know." Kennie crossed her left leg over her right, then reached inside her hood to remove the pale blonde strands of hair from over her face. She took in a deep breath, figuring that she had completed a more than ample amount of exercise for the day.

"she's right get yourself some pumpkin juice.. and you go with her Kennie.." He wanted to be able to rest his eyes for just a few minutes, with out feeling eyes staring down at him. "Sneak me back some pumpkin juice.." He added on quickly. After the talk of pumpki njuice he now wanted it, which they all knew he hated the stuff. But even though he hated it, once you got an urge for something, he had to satisfy it or it would annoy him, he'd never be able to get anything done. He smiled towards Kennie, with a cheeky smile then looked over to Joey. "Your going to get coffee aren't you?"

Joey frowned, not liking her friends agreeing that she shouldn't drink coffee. Coffee made her sane. They had just never seen her without coffee. She'd been drinking it since she was nine. She also figured that Simon needed to rest and be alone. He always wanted to be alone lately anyways. More so than usual. She wrinkled her nose. "You obviously haven't seen me without coffee...because if you had, you'd be practically begging me to drink it," She assured them with a nod.
She liked pumpkin juice when she hadn't just woken up or if the was already in a good enough mood. But coffee or cammomile tea usually worked wonders on her nerves. "I might get tea," She shrugged. "But I don't need to feel more drowsy. Caffeine would give me energy...so yeah... coffee it is..." She said with a cheeky smirk. She stroked Simon's forehead and kissed it before she got up and stood beside Kennie. "We'll be back soonish to bring you your pumpkin juice," She said, although she found it odd because he hated the stuff.

Kennie gave a sight roll of her eyes. She wouldn't be surprised if there was an actual condition for being addicted to coffee, or caffeine at the minimum. She mentally concluded that there was and that she would find some sort of potion or charm to help cure Joey of it. Coffee was disgusting. Kennie's stomach churned at the mere smell of it. She didn't know why, but it never failed to nauseate her. Especially in the mornings. Which was why she tended to sit alone at breakfast and eat her meal as quickly as possible. Most people around Hogwarts didn't drink coffee at other times, so Kennie was usually perfectly fine at lunch and supper. She sighed and stuck her hands into her pockets.
She raised her eyebrows at Simon's mentioning that he wanted them to bring him back a goblet of pumpkin juice. That was certainly odd, Kennie had never seen him drink any before, she had figured that he didn't like the stuff. She got off the foot of the bed, figuring that Simon probably did need some time to himself to rest, Kennie understood. Although she very much enjoyed the company of her best friends, she did sometimes require an hour or two to be by her lonesome. Kennie dusted herself off, smoothing the wrinkles in her robes at the same time. "All right, we'll bring you back some," said Kennie, looking to Joey, she would follow, she didn't care for leading things.

"Thanks" he said warmly, not reacting to the kiss that Joey had placed on his head. Atleast not yet, it would sink in later after the two left. He watched them leave, knowing them they'd probably be arquing about hwats better coffee or tea. He smirked at the thought of the two bickering, it was amusing in his book anyway. He turned his head to look at the ceiling. The nurse came back in and handed him a class of water and potion. It made him curious why she was giving him so many potions, did the nurse know something he didn't. Had he really been cursed? He took a deep breath, held his nose and downed the potion. The nurse to the potion bottle with her as she left the room. Once more he took a few sips of water and placed the glass down on the bedside table. His body then soon became very calm. Simon snuggled into the pillow behind his head and closed his eyes. It was nice knowing that no one was staring at him in a worried manner, but at the same time he sort of missed the feeling. A smirk came on his face as the kiss to the forehead from his friend hit him for the first time.
