It felt like he saw less and less of Kennie and they were in the same house. He figured she just didn't want to socialize. Simon hoped she was getting better, but feared the worse. In Simon's head the only way to really know she was starting to recover, was to get her to go to Hogsmeade, through the path. Even if it meant the three of them were walking arm and arm down the path, it would be a big improvement. He also hadn't seen Joey in a while, due to studies, which was fine. It only made the days they got to see each other even better.

Though it made Kennie extraordinarily nervous, she was taking a walk by herself. Every step she had to tell herself that intruders had no possible route into the grounds. If that's the case, then how did Sirius Black get in two years ago? her conscience reminded her. Kennie anxiously drew her cloak more tightly around herself, hand closing around her wand that was in its pocket. Her hood was currently on, to protect herself from the light, even on overcast days like then, it was still possible for her pale skin to get burned. Hunger gnawed at the pit of her stomach, but whenever she sat down to eat, food lost all appeal. Kennie held back a sigh of relief when she saw Simon, then lengthened her stride to fall into place with him, not saying a word.

As he sat under a tree by the lake, his eyes moved from the water to the land. "Hey Kennie" He called out with a wave of his hand to get her attention. He stood up and moved over towards her, meeting her half way. " Hey you.." He smiled and gave her a hug. "Seems like I don't see you anymore... You doing alright?"

Kennie felt great as Simon embraced her, it was great to see him again. He was like her big brother, her protector when she was away from her father. But the sudden feeling of happiness vanished as soon as he let go. Kennie sat beside him, cross-legged. She loved the freedom of wearing jeans, no worry of having to make sure she was covered up. Though of late, she had to tighten her belt a few notches. Trim to begin with, she had lost even more weight from lack of eating. However, she no longer felt on the edge of suicide since she had been with Charles... "I am making it," said Kennie with a sigh.

"That's good. What have you been up to? I haven't seen you around the Commons, or anywhere really.." He had no idea about her and the Gryffindor boy. He did strike a resemblence to Joey at least in his eyes for a moment. He took a few breaths and took a seat next to her. He wanted to make sure she was really ok.

"I've been in the back of the library mostly," said Kennie. It was like her pristine corner. Nobody came back there, so no whispers around her, nothing to disturb her. But sometimes there were others, and if that was the case, she went up to the Room of Requirement to either sing or play piano. "Sometimes the Room of Requirement," Kennie added. She had found that she just needed a bit more time to herself of late, to think, remove her burden bit by bit. Sometimes her depression was manageable, but others it felt far too heavy for her to carry. It was like a pendulum effect.
