Everyone was at Hogsmeade, Kennie of course wasn't just about ready to head back there or down the path. So he had decided to stay behind with her. The two had admitted a few nights ago that they liked each other, exchanged a few kisses on the cheek, but that was about it. It wasn't like anyone was officialy said or that a date was set. Yet he had told her to meet him here right after the group left to Hogsmeade. He was sitting under a tree on a blanket, there was a picnic basket filled with breakfast food and desert as well as some pop and fizzy water. He had planned on asking her to be his girlfriend today and hoped that this little picnic might be their first date and Charles was very nervous about it.

Kennie drew her hood against the weak sunlight as she left through the main doors of Hogwarts. She had donned a royal violet cloak over dark jeans and a pure white blouse. A locket was tucked beneath it, when opened, one could observe the picture of Kennie's parents. She had shrunk it down herself to make it fit, since it had gotten severely wrinkled in her pocket. She fingered the thin, silver chain as she walked. Though she didn't look her normal self, Kennie was well-rested. Her clothing hung loosely on her, food had lost all appeal. Kennie drew her cloak more tightly around herself. She nodded when she reached Charles. "Good morning," said Kennie.

"Hi.." He said instead of goodmorning , which hep robably should have said first. " I thought while the others were away, we could spend the morning laying out, talking, eating and drinking." Should he just call it a date somewhere in their conversation or ask if it would be considered one. Afte rall he was definately not use to being only attracted to one girl before. He had never had a girlfriend and so he just wanted to make sure he was doing everything ok and not too much over the top.

Kennie sat down beside Charles, crossing her legs, and very much enjoying the freedom of not having to wear a skirt. This was as close to Hogsmeade as she wanted to be for now, the shops themselves were tempting, though it was the path that frightened her. She was never going to subject herself to that again. Since they were in the shade, Kennie lowered her hood. The dark circles beneath her eyes had gotten lighter, they were thin ghosts of what they had been before. Nor were her eyes bloodshot, though the irises did look rather red that day. "That sounds excellent," said Kennie.

"Good.. " he stated as he moved to the picnic basket and got out some plates. He enjoyed the weekends, specialy any day where he didn't have to be in his robe. He was wearing some nice jeans, sandals and a button down shirt, left open with a white undershirt under it. After taking out the two plates that were wrapped in plastic wrap he turned his head to Kennie "Fizzy Water or Cola.." He asked polietly before he would get her her drink and then get him his own.
"You look very beautiful today.. like always." He smiled hoping it didn't make him seem weird by saying it. He wasn't about to say Sorry for it. It was the truth, she was beautiful, she was always beautiful in his eyes even if she was crying, snot running down her nose didn't matter to him. He looked towards the lake and then back towards the Hufflepuff. "So Ms. Kennie how was your sleep last night?"

Kennie helped herself to a sparkling water. She had never really care much for the term "fizzy," as it sounded a bit... Unsophisticated. There was her privileged upbringing showing through in her yet again. Her parents had placed particular emphasis on proper speaking, and disliking of slang. Kennie was not even allowed to use words like "didn't" and "can't" around them, having to instead say "did not" and "cannot". It was a bit tiresome sometimes. "Fairly well, Mr. Charles," said Kennie, smiling, though not with her lips. It showed through her eyes.

He smiled back towards her "That's good." He meant it, her happiness meant a lot to him. He still couldn't understand how or why he had fallen for her so fast, but he had, he just hopped it wasn't too obvious he had no idea what he was doing. He also hoped he wouldn't scare her away. HE sat there for a moment, not saying a word, every now and then taking a sip of his drink. " How is Joey?" He figured he'd ask how her friends were doing.

"A bit better off than I at the moment," Kennie replied lightly, then took a long sip of sparkling water. The food didn't really sound too good, it never did these days. Most of the time, Kennie would just sit in the Great Hall during meals, force down a bite or two, and then push around whatever was on her plate for the remainder of the time. Eating was hard, her throat didn't seem to want to work properly. She had gotten a letter early that morning from her father, telling her that she must come home for Christmas (which she did every year anyways). "Though her dreams have been bothering her of late," Kennie added.

"OH... anything I can do to help?" Though he didn't know Joey all too well, he felt like he needed to do something to help. His eyes watch Kennie for a moment, the food on the plate was small, only single portions. People today tended to eat way more than single portions. He took a sip of his drink, keeping his eyes on Kennie as she would answer his questions.

Kennie was tempted to eat, but her throat tightened, as if a warning sign telling her not to so much as think about it. Was it just her, or had it gotten a little chilly. A few strands hair were slowly escaping from the knot that Kennie had wound them up in, tickling the back of her neck. Kennie didn't pay them any mind, in fact, she hardly noticed. She forced down another mouthful of sparkling water, to loosen the tightness in her throat. "I'm not sure," said Kennie. Her eyes traveled to the lake, she observed the surface ripple ever so slightly with the breeze.

"Are you cold?" He asked polietly. IT was a little nippy this morning. He looked around to see if he had anything he could give her if she said yes. His eyes then went back to her for a moment before looking towards the Lake. It was a beautiful morning, besides for the random cold breezes it was rather perfect. He kept a warm smile on his face as he took ab ite of his food. It really wasn't the much food on their plates. like a very small handful of eggs and half a peice of toast. He could usualy pack down a lot, but he knew she hadn't been eating as much lately, so thought it would be best if he wasn't scarving down food infront of her. He'd feel weird if he had done that. He was happy with the food and drink he had and just being with her.

Kennie debated on buttoning up her cloak to keep the warmth trapped inside of her. She should have worn her robes too. She was always colder than average, and the nippiness didn't aid that either. "I'm fine," said Kennie, she was never one to make her comfort wants expressed. She was the suffer-in-silence type of person. She forced down another mouthful of water, ignoring the food. Kennie did not feel particularly hungry. Her eyes never moved away from the lake.
