Two days ago he had cut his hair and shaved his beard. That was a few weeks after he had that walk with Kennie and the random hello's in the hall. He stayed in the commons for those two days after his hair was cut. He didn't really feel likke going to calss, one of the professors came to check on him, he just said he wasn't feeling good and they let him be. It wasn't like he didn't do alright in his classes. For two days he just sat and tried not to think about anything. Now it was time not to sit any more. Of course by now some gryffindors must have said something to others about his new look... or saying that they got a transfer student from another school, because he did look different, he looked a bit younger too.
He had gotten up just in time for lunch, did his hair, got dressed etc. He stared at himself in the mirror for a while, still sort of getting use to the haircut. He moved out of the Gryffindors boys room and out of the commons. Soon he was at the Entrance Hall, he couldn't wait to get some food in him.

Joey sighed and walked through the Entrance Hall, needing peace. She ran her hands through her long dark hair and spotted Charles Height. The guy that Kennie seemed to like and people were talking about a lot lately. Something seemed... familiar to her about him. He really did look like Sirius Black. Should she go and talk to him? Well, she was going to anyways to warn him about hurting Kennie if they decided to go out. She noticed that he had gotten a haircut from the last few times she'd seen him. "Nice haircut..." She said as she caught up beside him, heading towards the Great Hall. She felt quite hungry herself anyways. "I'm Joey... best friends with Kennie..." She said putting her hand out for him to shake.

He stopped walking when he heard a voice being directed towards him, so he figured. His head moved both ways, yep it was directed towards him. The girl soon had caught up to him and he started to walk again. "Thanks.. I'm still not use it.. everytime I see a reflextion i have to remind myself it's me.." He smirked and extended his hand to shake hers. "nice to meet you Joey, I'm Charles, but I get the impression you already knew that." He was glad the last two days he had stayed in the Gryffindor commons, it allowed him to think, sort of clear his mind. Though now he would have tons of homework to make up. Charles figured he could some how weasle out of it.

Joey let go of his hand and folded her arms slightly as she walked with him. She was curious about him. Not in the way most girls probably were. No.. she was perfectly content in her own relationship. Her head wondered back to the picture of her mom and Sirius Black kissing. And the fact that she and Charles really did look like them. The thought of Charles being his brother was just silly. She laughed a little to herself. "So... erm..." She hated awkward silences. But she wasn't sure what to say to him. "Yes I already knew that. Just from seeing you around... particularly with Kennie." She gave him a cheeky grin and then frowned again. "I think you can help her... I hate seeing her how she's been lately. Some kind of Seer I am..." She said sadly.

"Heh" He smirked. "I'm not sure she's all that interested in me.." HE stopped walking for a moment as the word 'seer' finally hit his ears. H tilted his head to the right a bit as he turned his body slightly to look at him. "Seer huh.. you should try talking to Sara-May.. she's been acting a bit weird lately.. not that she isn't normaly.. just.. I don't know.. Anyway.. Seers don't have much control on what they see. " he paused as he started to walk once more. "I've done my research, got way into it because of some assignment a few months back." As he walked he couldn't help but notice that his stomach was starting to bark at him. Not literaly bark, but just growl. "Two days with out food.. has sort of made my stomach angry at me.. you'll have to excuse it." He looked down. he had been hanging around sara-may way too much, he smirked at that thought.

Joey shrugged. "I think she's just scared. I don't blame her after what she's been through. Just be patient with her," She added. As they walked, she continued to speak. Knowing that Charles was right. She couldn't control her ability. "I've only seen one thing," she explained. She wasn't sure why she was sharing this with him. But he seemed to be easy to talk to. And helpful. He was Head Boy, afterall. "But according to Dumbledore, I'm clairvoyant and empathic. I see the night my mother was murdered....every night." She finished, shaking her head and thinking about the picture again. "I wish I could see anything else..."

"Not to seem uncaring or anything, cause that is a horrible thing to watch over and over again, but atleast you know what your mom looks like. All I know about my mom is that she gave me away to protect me, don't even have a name." He stopped outside of the great hall and leaned his back against the wall. "As for Kennie.. I" he just paused, his hand ran through his short hair. Charles didn't complete his sentence he just blanked.

Joey shrugged. "I didn't know what mine looked like either. Well, thats the only thing I have. My Godmother found me and took me in since my dad either died or left me," bit her lip slightly, knowing how selfish it was to wish that he was dead and really wanted her one day. "Anyways.... I don't feel sorry for myself. I never have. Its just that I can't sleep. I haven't had a good nights sleep in months," She finished. She felt her stomach growl. "I'm starving... and as for Kennie what? I know you like her."

"Apparently when a school flirt changes his behavior.. it's headlines around the school. I Think most people know." He commented about his liking Kennie first. "As for fathers.. I don't know mine either. I Know he doesn't know I exist. My mom had told the orphanage he didn't know.. she had been hiding for about eight months and didn't want the father to know. 'm sure someone has to know a name.. but I doubt some guy , if alive would want me showing up saying I was his kid." He smirked trying to lighten the mood. Then he quickly changed the subject. " I hope the food is really good today."

Kennie walked in through the front doors, having just come from Care of Magical Creatures. It was her only class that she didn't share with a friend. A few strands of hair had escaped from the knot she had put it in at the top of her neck, and her hands were dirty. They had worked with nifflers that day, so consequently, they had gotten covered in dirt. But the nifflers were actually kind of cute, and fairly cuddly. Kennie allowed herself a yawn, then stuck her hands in her pockets to wipe off the dirt. She would have dearly loved to go to bed, but she knew that the second she closed her eyes... Kennie looked up and saw Joey talking with some boy, and her heart missed a beat. It took her a minute, but she then realized the boy was Charles. She nodded to the both of them once she had approached.

"hi" he turned his head towards Kennie when he noticed her standing next to them. He had been talking to Joey and hadn't noticed her. Otherwise, he probably would have left before she could come up to them. Just figured she might just want to be with her friend before they went to eat. At times he wished that the Great hall wasn't organized by houses. "Let me guess.. nifflers.. I bet that's what I missed yesterday." He looked from Kennie back to Joey. Where does one keep their eyes when talking to more than one person. His eyes moved back towards Kennie with a warm smile, but it wasn't on his lips, it was hidden in his eyes. Not completely noticeable , but it was there.

Kennie nodded once more. "Yes," she said, tone even quieter than usual. It felt weird talking with Charles now, she knew he was still the same person, but he looked so different. Younger even, without the traces of facial hair that he had had before. Kennie did had to admit that she liked it better when boys were clean-shaven. Her fingers lightly brushed the photograph of her parents within her pocket. It had been somewhat of a security blanket to her the past couple of days.

"I was just about to ask Joey.. if you were planning on maybe going to hogsmeade this weekend..." He knew it had been maybe a month since the incident, but he was hoping she might go. " By you .. I mean you all, including Simon." He covered up his mistake of isolating just the hufflepuff girl. He looked over towards the Ravenclaw for a moment then back towards the Hufflepuff. After all he was trying to get over her, though he knew he probably wouldn't be able to. He couldn't tell that she was interested in him, so he decided to try not to show interest in her as well, though there would always be slips. A smile, a comment, he couldn't act like he had no interest in her for a long period of time, he just figured he should try to maybe coushin the blow if she didn't end up liking him.

"I'm not sure," said Kennie. "It depends on-" Her words cut off after a second. For once she wished that Joey wasn't there. She felt uneasy going down that path, even if someone was with her. It just seemed like too much to be where it had happened. Sometimes even the mention of Hogsmeade sent achill down her spine, and a sudden fear would grip her chest and make it hard to breathe for a moment. "Homework," Kennie finished. Even if she wasn't assigned a ton, she would probably use it as an excuse to stay behind.

"Alright.." he said with a warm smile. " Hope you do go." He smiled and then looked towards Joey. "Nice to meet you.. enjoy your lunches." With that he moved away from the girls, leaving them to stare at each other or talk about whatever. As he entered the great hall and headed down to a group of guys that were waving towards him, he took a deep breath. 'well that went well' he thought in his head, he wasn't over excited to see her and yet he showed some interests in her. He sat down at his table and his thoughts were now taken over by something one of the guys had said.
