It was the same as always on a weekday for Daniel. The morning run, the all day classes, and then back to the common room for studying. A sigh reached his lips as he entered the common room with his Herbology book in hand. Another boring day of learning about plants. The thought crossed his mind quickly and then dissipated quickly. The common room would probably keep mostly empty for the time being until later on when students would start pouring in to quickly work on their homework and sleep. But for Daniel, that time always started right after class. The normal, same ole same ole routine.
Opening up his Herbology book he stared at it for a few moments before drifting off into thought. The last couple days had been bit different in his routine. The Friday before he spent walking with some girl he hardly knew, and over the weekend he had to argue with some stupid Slytherin girl because she couldn't take a compliment. It was really messing with his routine quite a bit. One day he missed a run, another day he actually had to rush to get his homework done on time. That would not be allowed if his father was here. Another sigh came from his lips.
Letting the book lie open, Daniel shook his head and started drifitng off, thinking about the many many plants that he had learned about over the last few years. Everything was just rushing back to him quickly. It seemed like everything he had learned stuck to him like glue. Like it would never leave his mind. Leaning his head back against the armchair he was sitting in, Daniel closed his eyes before realizing that someone was entering the common room. Lifting his head quickly, Daniel looked at his book and acted like he was studying once again.

Charlotte was, for lack of a better term, completely furious. Her twin sister, Elizabeth, had gone one step way too far this time. She had brought some of her friends back to the library where Charlotte was, alone, and taunted her. She had sped off, and they had pursued. Though thankfully, they were a bit dim, and she had lost them in a corridor. Normally, she might have cried at something like this, but not today. She was livid. After the door closed behind her, Charlotte threw her bag into a chair (it made a loud noise because of all the things) and sat down beside it, first crossing her right leg over her left, and then folding her arms.

Looking up from his Herbology book, Daniel gave the newcomer a very confused look. A loud crash had just came from that area only moments ago. It must have been her bag. Daniel thought to himself, or at least he was hoping it was her bag. Watching as she crossed her legs and arms he wondered if he should say something or just keep it quiet for now. Daniel knew that if he was in that situation, maybe he would want someone to ask him how he was, just so he could vent. But being himself and being another person was two totally different perspectives. Closing his book, Daniel let a small smile show at the girl, hoping it would help lighten the mood. “Is everything alright? Do you need someone to rant to?” That normally was not Daniel’s way, but he was finding out that if he wanted to make some friends, he needed to open a bit. Looking at the girl, he waited for her answer, whether it be angry or not.

Charlotte was surprised when the boy inquired as to if she needed to talk to someone about her problems. Normally she was ignored completely, even by those of her own house, which made her life rather lonely, but with a lot less drama than other people. Unless of course Elizabeth decided to turn up... Charlotte returned his smile, but feeling the muscles in her face working rather hard to do so, as if they had forgotten how to do that. "I suppose the matter is nothing more than trivial," Charlotte said with a sigh. "It's just that Elizabeth has decided to make me miserable again," She was surprised at herself, the contempt held in her voice when she spoke about her sister, and the fact that she had opened up to someone that she didn't even know.

Daniel looked at the girl a bit confused when she actually did answer him. He was expecting her to throw it off as nothing, or to at least ignore him. But that was not the case. Instead he listened to her rant a little and smiled a bit, but also looked confused. "Who is Elizabeth?" He asked his voice trying to sound calm for her. Again this was not really his way of doing things, but she needed someone to talk to, and Daniel had his head up in the clouds. It was bound to happen sooner or later. Something had to pull him back down to reality. Hopefully this would kick the words back into his mind. The words that had been drilled into his head. He thought. "Well if you want. We can go make her miserable?" He said trying to lighten the mood a little. Letting out a small laugh he set his book down beside him in the chair. Liking his sudden good mood better.

"Only my absolutely perfect twin sister," Charlotte said, frowning at the floor. "Mum and Dad always liked her best." but of course, they overlooked the fact that Elizabeth was incredibly dim, and only passed each year at Hogwarts by the skin of her teeth, when last year, Charlotte had gotten all Outstandings on her exams, the fourth year running. It was probably all because of Quidditch or something. Which was the only aspect of magic (outside of Divination) in which Charlotte wasn't any good at. "But no, I think I'll get my revenge when she comes to me, begging for help on Transfiguration the day before OWL exams," said Charlotte. The idea lightened her mood a bit, but she was still irritated.

"If she is upsetting you so much, she cannot be as perfect as you say she is." Daniel gave her a look as she spoke about her parents liking her twin sister better and not her. It didnt make much sense to him, but Daniel was an only child so that would be expected. He tried his absolute best to put himself in her position but it would be almost impossible for him. A small smile came to him as she spoke about getting revenge on his sister. That was a nice and easy way to get revenge. Daniel thought to himself. Probably not the way he would have went about it, but it was the more subtle way.
Looking over at her he started to stand up but immeadetly sat back down. Maybe I should stay for a while. Daniel told himself. "If it makes you feel better. You can transifigure me into something." Daniel said with a small laugh. That would maybe lighten the mood for her, get a few good laughs. Shrugging he sat in his chair and kept his eyes across the room at her. And as if on cue of the feeling normal, the words rang again. Daniel sat straight up and put his arms to his sides. He was not allowed to let his guard down so easily. Had to keep it up, no hurt could come this way.

Refusing help would probably hurt Elizabeth's grades, something that would be overlooked by their parents, but it would haunt her career moves for the rest of her life. Employers looked at OWL test scores, as well as NEWT. She doubted that a place would even consider hiring someone who had Unsatisfactories, Poors, and Trolls. Her revenge would come in the long haul, when she could get into any profession that she desired... "Oh no," said Charlotte. "I couldn't do that,"

Daniel nodded slightly and turned his head back down. "Alright, if you insist." Looking towards his book, he picked it back up and opened it back up. This was probably going to be the end of the conversation for him. He got some conversation out and it seemed to help her out a bit, but that was probably going to be the end of it. Turning back to the chapter he left off, Daniel started to reread the chapter, study a bit and then maybe go for a run. Curiousity hit as he didnt hear any noises coming from where the girl was sitting. Glancing up, he looked to see what she was up to.

Charlotte had busied herself rummaging through her bag to pull out all the homework she needed to do that evening. Because she was taking everything but Divination this year, she still required the use of a Time-Turner, which had been secretly given to her at the beginning of her third year in order for her to be able to attend all her classes. Consequently, she had a lot of homework. Charlotte usually took up two tables with it all, sometimes three on a really heavy workload. She had enchanted her bag to hold all her things, which was about four times beyond its original capacity, so it was loud and heavy.
