If there was any sense in the words that Ginny had spoke, Kennie found herself unable to find them. True, she had heard about the diary in which a teen-aged Tom Riddle had emerged, and had used Ginny to open the Chamber of Secrets. Her second year had been the scariest of her life, she had thought that Hogwarts might close for good, and that was always frightening. Her mother was all for sending her to Beauxbatons that year. Thankfully her father had talked her out of it. But now there was a nagging feeling in the pit of her stomach, like, if she had gone to Beauxbatons, this whole situation might not exist. She sighed. "I'm not sure I understand," said Kennie quietly.

Hmm,, she thought how she could try and reword what she meant. "I just mean..it's going to take time.. just don't let it control you.. Slowly start doing things you would normaly do that you might not now. Like walking around the grounds alone, first close to the castle, then maybe towards the lake." She gave a warm smile. "Just don't allow how you feel now to take over to where you won't trust men, or won't go to hogsmeade or afraid of dark. I keep telling my brother Ronald.. that to get over his fear of spiders he should confront it.. small size.. of course he decided to encounter large ones first so now hes petrified of them.. " She jumped topics so the girl new she didn't have to reply to anything she had just said if she didn't want to.

Ginny was making it sound as if it should be as easy as running away from a flobberworm. Perhaps she didn't quite understand. Kennie didn't think that anyone around Hogwarts would, unless they too, happened to be a rape victim just like her. She wasn't afraid of the dark, in fact, it soothed her. She just didn't like nighttime because of the incessant nightmares, but Ginny was quite correct in knowing her fear of walking anywhere outside the castle alone. Somehow, Kennie didn't see this as a simple process, Ginny probably didn't know what it was like, not being able to get any sleep, having that weight on her shoulders... Kennie couldn't bring herself to say anything.

"Trust me.. I'm still jumpy from the Tom Riddle .. Lord... " she stopped andd didn't say the name. "I never told anyone this..specially not my brother. I kept re-living it, re living everything in my dreams... that voice.. his voice i n my head.. just haunting me like the diary still was in effect, but it wasn't of course.. thanks to Harry." She smiled slightly , then quickly hid the smile. " I still do every now and then.. along with.. last year.. when.. Harry and ..Ced.." her voice grew low and her head moved to look towards her lap. "the look on Harrry's face...it stays with me.. I don't have the slightest idea why.. but i just try not to let my dreams effect me.. It's not easy.. and i definately don't give a hundred percent into trying, but it helps if you find something... or someone that can just take your mind off it when being around."

Kennie still felt fairly confused, but nodded as if she understood. It didn't feel to be of much help, at least not at the moment. Perhaps if she just gave it time... Kennie ran a hand through her hair, then reached into her pocket to find a rubber band, her hair being down bothered her. Her fingers only found the picture of her parents that she carried around with her. She was tempted to pull it out and gaze upon their smiling faces as they held hands and waved up at her... Kennie refrained, not feeling like explaining her parents to someone at the moment. People always gaped when she was with her family, pale and without any pigment, while the rest of them were dark. "Thank you," said Kennie.
