Charlotte had left the Great Hall early that evening, to come to an empty common room and get a headstart on her homework. There was so much tonight, most of it being due either the next day or within the week. It was rather stressful to be an OWL student. She took to her usual two tables, spreading out all the work that had to be done across them. In no time, both tables were covered in books, unfinished essays, rune translations, diagrams of muggle devices, colour-coded notes and anything else you could imagine.
Now, where to start, there was just so much. Charlotte figured that she would finish her essay for Care of Magical Creatures, she only had a paragraph left on that. She grabbed a quill and ink bottle from the masses of her work and set on her essay. Just as she was finishing her conclusion, someoen came into the commons, but Charlotte was too engrossed in her work to look up. The person would probably pass her by anyways.

Joey rushed back into the common room. She was exhausted and really wanted to sleep. But she was afraid to sleep these days. Instead, she would finish homework. Maybe get finished with a Potions essay and Herbology. She looked to notice someone else was in there. Of course, she was pretty sure the girl was in her Herbology class. Joey sat in one of the chairs and began working until she began to feel her eyes becoming heavier and heavier. She soon fell asleep in the chair.

Charlotte yawned, then lightly blew on the last line of her essay to dry the ink. She hated writing with quills, she preferred pens, but she was often teased even more for using them than what she was on an average day. Charlotte put away her essay and then began to work on a chart for Astronomy. It was fairly easy, but time consuming to project the path of a commet that might be on a collsion course with Mars. Charlotte didn't bother to look at the other person there, she had so much work to finish still! Her fifth year was so far the least favourite of her years at Hogwarts.

Joey wasn't even in two minutes of her sleep before she started having her dream. It was so loud. The banging.... her mother's screams....the terrible laugh.... "Where's the child?" It said. "You can't have her!" Her mother said bravely, but you could tell that her voice was shaken. "Avada Kedavra!" And then the flash of light. Joey woke with a scream. Her dream had never had voices in it before. She was gasping for air as if she couldn't feel any in her lungs anymore.

Charlotte continued to work on her Astronomy chart, yawning every so often, referencing to her book every couple of minutes to make sure that she was plotting her stars correctly. There was still so much left to do... Charlotte jumped when the girl in her year, Josephine, woke with a scream. She sighed softly when she looked down, seeing that she had smeared half of her work and completely misplaced Saturn. With a quick wave of her wand, the mistakes fixed themselves and she placed the planet appropriately. She looked over to Josephine curiously, what had happened to her? "Um, are you all right?" Charlotte asked her cautiously.

Joey opened her eyes and still couldn't breathe. She felt a little embarrassed but she couldn't exactly control herself. "Dream....." She tried to swallow hard. She couldn't move and felt as cold as ice. Her whole body was shaking. It was different this time. Wheres the child? Were they talking about her? Her head felt like someone hit it with a bludger. She felt a small tear go down her cheek. Had her mother died saving her? Who was this death eater, anyways? She shook her head. "Sorry... bothering....you..." She managed to spit out.

Charlotte placed down her quill after wiping the ink on the nib off on a piece of scrap parchment, just so she wouldn't smudge the ink on her Astronomy chart. She got out of her chair and then walked over to where Josephine was sitting, then seated herself in the chair across from her. "Um, no," said Charlotte. "It isn't any trouble at all. Er, are you sure you're okay?" She still had time to finish her homework, she supposed that she would only be a couple minutes with Josephine, try to see if she could get her to calm down. She seemed to be on the edge of having some sort of panic attack or something. For once, Charlotte maintained eye contact, she was a bit worried.

Joey sighed. She didn't know this girl and she wasn't sure if she should tell her her life story. But maybe she could help. At this point, she was fairly desperate. She couldn't always go after Simon or Kennie for her problems in case one of these happened. She was still a bit shakey. She shook her head. "Not really... it must be a panic attack..." She said, looking at the girl. "I have this recurring dream. I've always had it but for some reason, it's gotten worse. Every single time I close my eyes," She said frowning. It really was quite menacing. "I don't know what it means or what to do about it." She shrugged. "I'm Joey by the way...." She said slowly. Her words were starting to sound better and she was calming down a bit. "I usually don't have panic attacks. But I think my dream just changed..."

Charlotte listened as Josephine explained what was going on. It sounded like some Divination type thing, and unfortunately, it was the only subject that she wasn't any good at. She had dropped it six weeks into her third year. The Professor was an old fraud anyways. Faking a minimum of ten spasms of "insight to the future" every class period. It got on Charlotte's nerves actually. She leaned forward slightly in her seat. "I'm Charlotte," she said softly. "Um, should you see the nurse?"

Joey could tell that Charolette didn't quite understand her. She was glad to have someone to talk to. She stood up straighter in the chair, trying to not fall asleep again. "Nice to meet you. And no... I mean, theres nothing she can do except give me some sort of potion. And... I think I need to figure this dream out. Like its telling me something. Trelawny is a fraud from what I hear unfortunately." She grumbled. She could really use someone who knew what they were doing. Maybe Dumbledore? But he was so busy. She'd never actually really talk to the man herself.

"She is a fraud," Charlotte agreed quietly. This was unusual for her, she never spoke ill of anybody, not even of her twin sister, Elizabeth whom everyone adored. She shoved her hands into her robe pockets, itching to get back to her Astronomy chart. After that she still had several essays to write, runes to translate, and she still had to decode the magical properties of the number thirty-four. Thin dark circles were under Charlotte's eyes, she was taking everything except Divination this year and it was taking its toll, but she couldn't bring herself to drop anything. "Divination is just a bunch of woolly guesswork," said Charlotte. "You'd be better off consulting a book."

Joey shook her head. She never took Divination herself. She was never all too interested in learning it. She looked at the other Ravenclaw girl and noticed that she looked almost as bad as she did. Hers was probably through excessive studying. She knew most Ravies were taking way more classes than they could handle. Joey knew that if she took anymore, she'd have to quit Quidditch. Which was impossible, seeing as how she wanted to be a professional player. She even had the talent to do it. "I'll be fine. These dream occur pretty much every night without fail. I'm getting used to it." She said with a shrug.

Charlotte nodded, as if understanding what Joey was talking about, but really having no idea as to what it was like to have a recurring dream. The time turner that was tucked beneath her shirt felt cold against her skin, as it always did. But she couldn't wear it outside of her clothes, Professor McGonagall had made her swear to not tell anybody about the time turner and to use it only for attending her extra classes. So far, Charlotte had kept her word. "I'll just be returning to my work, then," said Charlotte, then figuring that she needed to add something, opened her mouth again. "If you ever need to talk, don't hesitate to approach." Charlotte gave Joey a faint smile, then went back to her two tables full of work.
