"Fine.. atleast come lay with me.." He stated watching her closely. He fet like being close to someone, being held or holding someone. It wasn't like he and Kennie or he and Joey haven't just laid somewhere holding the other. THe medicine to help him sleep was slowly taking over him, causing him to be a bit drowsy.

"All right then, budge over," said Kennie, going over to lie down on the couch with Simon. An outsider would probably see this as intimate, but they didn't really know about the kind of relationship that she had with Simon. He was like a big brother, her protector when away from her father. Nobody ever wanted to mess with him. He was big and buff, scary-looking to anybody that didn't know him. Kennie gently stroked Simon's hair as she watched him getting drowsier. She would probably end up staying up the whole night, just watching him sleep. Simon was warm. Kennie sighed quietly and began to hum.

He moved to allow her to aly down with her. His eyes closing gently as he felt her stroke his hair. THere was something about someone running their hands through his hair that was calming. His eyes opened slightly and then closed once more as he drifted asleep. his hand moved to hers, his fingers wrapped around hers.

As she watched Simon drift off to sleep, Kennie began to sing very softly, a French lullaby. She knew some French, mostly old songs, not enough to carry on substantial conversation, though. Kennie had no idea what she would ever do without Simon and Joey. They were her best, and only, friends in the world. They had taught her more than they probably realized. Kennie kept running her free hand through Simon's hair as she sung, knowing that it soothed him. Hopefully his dreams would not be troubled any longer. It pained her to see her friends carrying heavier burdens than hers. She just wanted to take it away from him, it worried her. Kennie lightly closed her eyes, but didn't fall asleep, she was too awake now.

He moved so thatat he was faceing the hufflepuff.Be was out of it, but the good thing was, was whatever the potion she gave him to sleep must of had a trigger to make sure it was a happy dream, but how happy it would stay he didn't know, but usualy when in such a deep sleep, he could recall anything. His breathing picked up for a moment an then slowed down. In his mind he was laying with joey, they were talkng, laughing a bit closer than just friends was how the environment felt. "I..." he started to talk out loud as well as in his dream, his voice soft..his hand moved to run against Joey's cheek and into her hair, but in the real world his hand ran through Kennie's hair.

Kennie flinched slightly as Simon ran his hand up her cheek and into her hair. She felt a bit uncomfortable with that, so she gently moved his hand away, hoping that she wouldn't wake him. She stopped singing, she had forgotten the next verse. She opened her eyes and turned her head so she could gaze into the fire. It was nearly dead now, just the occasional flicker of flame. The embers still glowed bright orange, but even they too were winding down. She emitted a peaceful sigh, Kennie loved nighttime. It was too bad the Hufflepuff dorms were in the basements, then she couldn't see the stars.

His fingers clentched as in his head the happy image started to turn. "No... no...but... " His voice was determined at first and sort of softened. "No you can't.. Joey.. no..I won't let you.." His chest rising and falling, if only he realized though he was in a deep sleep.. select words seemed to come out of his mouth. "You will not die.." in his dream he was on verge of tears, trying to talk to a girl that lay in her hands. She had taken something, something to permanently sleep so that her dreams wouldn't bug her anymore. "Ahhhh" His body moved, not aware of Kennie being so close to him. "I .. l...v.. you" the words were fant, probably barely even heard the word I or even the word you. In his dream she was just dying in his arms and when it hit him that she was just about to fade away, his body shot up and his eyes open so that she wouldn't die. She couldn't die if he was awake. He sat there for a moment, his body feeling sort of weak, tired and yet a calm over it. He looked around and then noticed Kennie. "I'm fine.. go to sleep.."

"Are you sure?" Kennie said, sitting up herself and looking at Simon with eyebrows raised. "You were talking in your sleep," She didn't know that he did that. He must be a horrible bunk mate to have in the boy's dorms. At least he didn't snore, it might drive Kennie insane if he did. Simon wasn't about to get off easily on that one, it had been what, half an hour or so since he had fallen asleep? No way. He was the one that was going back to sleep, not her. "You're the one that ought to go back to sleep," said Kennie "I'm not going to bed until I know that you're going to get some rest." She would be firm on this. She had already accepted the fact that sleep wasn't much a possibility now, but that was no reason for Simon to be up.

"Was I? I can't remember what it was about.. What did I say.. I only talk in my sleep when it's emotionaly draining or realistic or something like that somy psychologist says.." He wasn't a seer or anything like that, he just had bad dreams he always seemed to have them. Most of the time they didn't bug him, like tonight usualy when he woke up he couldn't remember them, but he would have an emotional pull on him that told him something about the dream had to have a bit of realism in it. "What did I say?" He sat up, his feet soon his the floor and he moved towards the fire place, turning around he looked to Kennie.

"You were going on about not letting somebody die," Kennie said, crossing her right leg over her left as she watched what Simon was doing. "After a few minutes I couldn't understand you, it was more like muttering." That was all she had gotten. If only Simon had remembered the details of the dream, Kennie might be able to decode it. Indeed, dreams were the only aspects of Divination that Kennie was any good at reading. She didn't have a "reflexive Inner Eye" as Professor Trelawney had called it. But everybody knew the professor was an old fraud anyways. "Lie back down," Kennie told him. "I think the both of us ought to try and go back to sleep."

He didn't say anything, just returned to the couch, placing a kiss on Kennies forhead. "Maybe you should try to sleep in your bed.. wouldn't want to wake you or keep you from sleep if I started to talk again." His friends came first, Kennie and Joey came first over any of his friends. Taking a seat on the couch he watched her for a moment before laying back down. He knew she wouldn't leave him and it was sweet. But this was him they were talking about. He always had bad dreams, and there was always someone dying or pain.. it was the vivid ones that caused more pain.

"No, thank you for offering, but no." said Kennie, then folded her arms lightly. How stupid was Simon? He was her top priority right now, she was going to make sure that he was comfortable and rested before she worried about herself. She took after her mother on that sense. But it was only for people that were her friends, Kennie could care less about the rest of the world. "Come now," Kennie said quietly, patting the couch beside her. "Before the sleeping potion wears off." She was going to stay where she was, and nothing Simon did or said was going to change her mind. That was the stubborn bit in her, she supposed. She didn't mind it though, Kennie didn't do anything that she didn't want to.

He laid down, placing his head in her lap, his legs curled as much as they could. He closed his eyes , but it took a bit longer than before to try and fall back asleep , dfue to the fact there was stilll some sort of emotion over him from whatever he had been dreaming before hand. HE fell asleep sooner than he expected. Once more he was dreaming of Joey." I love you" He stated both in reality and in his dream. In the dream joey seemed to like him too whether love was the case, he couldn't tell. Somehow his dream started back over.. I lov.." As he dreamed he realized he kept dreaming the same part over and over again so he made his dream jump till it wasn't, but the next thing he saw was him holding the ravenclaw girl, blood coming from her, she had been cut up maybe an unforgiveable curse. "No... ah...Joey please..." then his mind went black, but he didn't wake.

Kennie gently stroked Simon's hair after he had placed his head in her lap. She remained quiet as he drifted off, she watched his chest gently rise and fall, then turned her eyes to what was left of the fire in the grate. It had been reduced to only glowing embers now. A cleaning house elf came out from a tiny false panel in the wall and began to hurriedly tidy up. Kennie felt her eyes growing heavy, perhaps she might fall asleep after all. She put her head against the back of the sofa and closed her eyes. She didn't have any dreams after falling asleep, just gentle blackness. It was comforting.

The dream came back and he began to talk in his sleep once more, maybe three hours into sleeping. "I love you.. don't.. " A pauses, his chest rising and falling a bit faster. His heart rate picked up as well. His voice grew a bit more panicked. "Joey.. please for me.." He couldn't allow her to do whatever it was that was going on in his head. It was like he could see it all happening yet at the same time all he'd be able to remember when waking up is just pitch black. "JOEY" He fell silent once more, but his chest was still rising and falling quickly. In his mind he was taking the drink away from Joey this time and taking it himself so she could be spared. His chest stopped moving in his dreams as it did in real life. The breath seemed to be takin out of him slowly, painfully coughing both in dream and reality. He became silent and after what seemed like thirty minutes of not breathing in his dream, was only three minutes in reality.
