"Don't worry, I won't," Kennie said quietly in response to Simon. Although she was one to worry quite a bit, she felt that she handled things like these a little bit better than her other best friend, Joey. If Kennie had been cold back in the Hufflepuff commons, it was nothing compared to how she felt now. One never really noticed how terribly cold it was inside Hogwarts until walking around it after dark wearing nothing but a silk nightdress. "You still look awful," Kennie said. She uncrossed her arms a moment to lay the back of her hand on Simon's forehead. He didn't feel exactly feverish to her, but he was rather clammy, it sent a small shiver down her spine, he still seemed as though he were ill.

"i'm fine .. it's just my body's defense system." His eyes looked across his friend noticing she was cold. He slipped his flip flops off. "Put them on .." He gave her one of his ' you best do what I say or else' looks. It would help more htan she thoguht. The temperature of the feet effected the entire body. He then placed his arm around the girl and ran his hand up and down her arm. "It's you that looks ill.. which you will one day from being stubborn.." He smiled and kissed the top of her head. "It's ok to back track sometimes.." They continued down the hall and he continued to try and make sure she didn't catch a cold.

"I swear if that was some form of pale joke," Kennie said as she slipped on the flip flops. She looked down at her feet, they were several sizes too big for her, but she didn't mind. Where Simon's feet had been in them were still warm, and a tiny bit of feeling was coming back to the tips of her toes. She was grateful when Simon put his arm around her, he was pretty warm against her cold skin. The castle was oddly quiet at this time of night, unnerving almost. But at least they had not come across a prefect yet. Kennie emitted a sigh of relief as the infirmary doors came into view, they had successfully made it up several floors without being caught. Perhaps it was a good thing that portraits slept. Before Simon could reach for it, she grabbed the door handle and pulled it open for him, instead of it being the other way around. He was the one that had fallen ill, after all.

He laughed slightly. "Of course it's not.. your half naked in a freezing cold building.. your going to get sick. Maybe you should lay in one of the begs to keep warm or ask for a blanket." He was just going to ammuse his friend. He felt find, and the nurse would probably agree with Kennie... 'atleast he was making sure it was nothing else' he could already hear the nurse. He was going to open the door , but Kennie opened it for him. Walking, he once more placed his arm aroud Kennie, making sure she kept warm.

Kennie used her foot to slow the door, so it wouldn't make too much noise as it closed. It still closed loudly, most doors around Hogwarts did. She sighed, well, they probably wouldn't have to go in and wake the nurse, unless for some odd reason she didn't hear the silence-shattering crash."You should sit down," Kennie said to Simon, although somehow knowing that he might refuse her. That didn't matter, Kennie was fairly physically strong in spite of her thin stature, it surprised people sometimes. Especially when they learned that she was a chaser, everybody said that she had a bit more of a seeker's build. But she doubted that she would be able to seek as well as Simon. The nurse came practically running from her office with a robe over a nightdress, looking from Kennie to Simon for an explanation. Kennie looked to her friend, he ought to explain.

" My friend here dragged me down here.." he looked towards Kennie.. "Because of what I believed to have been a panic attack I had. I was dreaming.. then My eyes opened, I gasps.. Slowly lost control of being able to breath.. Felt like a nelephant on my forehead and a hand against my throat.. Lasted about 25- 30 minutes.. . THe next then I realize I'm opening my eyes again and went to sit outside the guys room.. where Kennie here found me and forced me to come here.. Can I please go now.. There are no signs of anything bad, no side affects, my head barely hurts anymore.." He just spitted it all out right then and there, so that he could just leave. It was nothing, and it wasn't like they could do anything anyway. He had to have current symptoms to be able to treat, he had none.

Kennie walked over to the window, to give Simon a bit of privacy as he talked with the nurse, he probably would have done the same thing for her. She gazed out upon the night sky. It was breathtaking. The first cloudless night that she could remember in a long time. The sky was like inky black velvet, the stars little pinpricks of white in the darkness. Kennie could easily pick out some of her favourite constellations, it was the best time of year for them. She had always been rather good at Astronomy, it was her favourite subject. Yes, that especially bright dot was Jupiter, Kennie tore her eyes away from the planet and found the bright blue star, Sirius. It was captivating, the nighttime sky.

He listeneed to the nurse, who decided to just give him something that could help him sleep, then sent him on his way. He moved back towards Kennie, grabbing her wrist, he pulled her towards the door. "Come on grasshopper" He moved out of the Infirmary, his hand letting go of the girls wrist. "I'm fine.. she just gave me something to help me get back to sleep.. " He placed an arm around the girl, once more running his hand up and down his arm to make sure she was warm.

"Good," Kennie said with a bit of a smile. It faded quickly. She didn't smile too frequently, and when she did, it was small, hardly bigger than a smirk. She was glad that Simon wasn't nagging her about not needed to go to the nurse at all. But then again, he didn't see himself when Kennie had first stepped out of her dorm. She figured that when she got back to the Hufflepuff commons she would be going straight back to bed, it was still the dead of night. Perhaps their little walk might be enough to make her sleepy again. Simon was one of her closest friends, the big brother she never had.

He smiled as they headed back to their portrait, who was not happy to be awake, but alsoi concerned about what the nurse had to say. After getting through the portrait, he just moved to the couch, not one sound from his lips. Sitting down on the e couch ended in having one leg on the couch, the other was bent, so his foot could be on the ground. His head leaned against the pillow and he just starred at the ceiling.

"Not going to return to your bed?" Kennie asked as she slipped off Simon's sandals beside the couch he laid on. "I would not advise staying here for the night, there are still opportunists that would love to get their hands on someone asleep in the commons." It was not very well-spread, but there were quite a few practical jokers in Hufflepuff. Probably not as many as in Gryffindor, but they still had their fair share. She sat in the chair across from the couch, still not tired. She was not going to go up to bed until Simon did.

"I'll take my chances." He stated as his eyes began to close. For a few minutes he kept silent, his eyes closed, then his eyes opened and he noticed the charming hufflepuff girl watching him. He sat up, his leg moved so that both his feet were on the ground. His eyes once more on his legs before going back to Kennie. "You just going to stand there..?"

"Does it look like I'm standing, dung-brain?" Kennie said teasingly, she had been sitting down for the past five minutes. "I don't think I'll be going to bed anytime soon, just another night of insomnia for me." She laid her head against the chair as she stared into the fire that was slowly dying in the grate, its embers still radiating enough warmth for her to feel. She ran her finger up and down the arm of the chair, wishing that sleep would come easily. But, when Kennie was up, she typically couldn't go back to bed. It seemed that her body wanted to reject sleep, though she needed it.

"Go to bed " He ordered, watching her closel. She needed sleep, and he knew that it was difficult for to sleep once she was up, but she really needed to try. " Go rest your eyes for an hour and if you can't fall asleep. .. i'll be here for you to bug." He smiled towards Kennie. She was a sweet girl, who was sometimes stubborn and he felt like he was a big brother to her

"Excuse me?" Kennie said, raising her eyebrows, she didn't take orders very well. She wasn't really tired at the moment, besides, she was awake, her chances of being able to fall back asleep again were extremely slim. "I'm fine here," said Kennie, folding her hands in her lap and looking away from the shrinking fire in the grate. "I can whip up a quick energy potion later if I need to." She settled into the chair, keeping her legs crossed to be dignified in her short nightdress. Kennie sighed quietly, she liked the night anyways.
