The run was tiring, wearing on his body. Daniel had just finished running for almost two hours straight. Sweat was running down his body as he stopped in front of the castle doors. This was always the best way to take out his stress and anger at the world. His teenage feelings and mood swings. But today was not one of those days. Only a few hours before, Daniel had recieved a letter from his mother. It was one of the few that he had ever seen from her while he was in school. And every time that he had seen one, it hadn't been all that great of news. Of course this had to be the same.
The note was about Daniel's father. He was being called back to active duty by the Navy. He was promised that he was finished, but of course this had to be a lie. Twenty years of active duty, a commander in the Royal British navy, so many years away from his family. And now, when everything was going so swell, he was being called back into danger.
A sigh reached Daniel's mouth as he took a few steps inside and looked around the Entrance Hall. Only a few people took the time to see who it was that just entered. Shaking his head, Daniel turned it towards the ground and started walking. Being stopped suddenly, Daniel slammed into someone. Quickly looking up, his eyes shot open. "Im so sorry, I wasnt paying attention." He said quickly.

 MAKAYLA-LOUISEANNEEVANS !!
Makayla had just finished eating her lunch in the great hall. Being the loudest person at he end of her table. Singing to all the Slytherins to annoy them and laughing at the people on her table. She was very loud, but she didn't care, it was who she was. She bit into her food and coughed it up after laughing to much. She felt full now, very full. She stood up and waved to her friends and smiled. Walking out of the great hall she stopped as the door shut and reached into her robe making sure her wand was still there.
She smirked and walked out into the entrance hall stopping for a minute thinking what lesson she had soon. Was it potions no, she had that already. Defense against the dark arts, gah, no, that was tomorrow. It troubled her for a moment until it popped into her head, herbology. She groaned aloud causing people to look her way which was how she liked it.
She walked forward and felt someone bump into her. She lost her footing slightly but caught herself before she fell over. She laughed about it anyway and looked up seeing a ravenclaw boy. She smiled and fluffed her hair. Being as confident as she was she didn't mind. She had just met another friend.
She shook her head. "No, it is fine, don't worry about it!"
[/b] She said a hint of happiness in her voice, over meeting a new person. "I should watch where I'm going."[/b] She replied. It was true, she hadn't looked where she was going either. "I'm Makayla-Louise."[/b] She said introducing herself to him.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/size] |

"Heh, I was not paying attention either." He said looking at the girl a bit confused. She seemed so happy for just being ran into. Why was everyone here so happy so often. He thought quickly before coming back to reality at hearing her name. "Um. Good to meet you. I'm Daniel." He said trying to show a small reassuring smile.
After his short introduction, Daniel looked around a bit confused now before wanting to suddenly get away from the conversation. "Erm. Well I dont want to keep you waiting. I better get going." He said turning his head back to her and his smile disappearing. Everything around him was starting to feel close in. The conversations with girls needed to stop. With everything that had been happening with his father. His words were ringing louder now then ever. Waiting for her goodbye, Daniel's arms went behind his back into their normal standing military stance.

Her eyes wandered around the hall to see what all the other students were doing, most of them were coming out of the Great Hall. Meaning that the Entrance Hall, in a few minutes would be flooded with people who were going to go outside or venture to their common room. Only thing Makayla hated about this was probably the Slytherins who would barge past and laugh about it later with their mates, things is, no one else seem to find this funny.
Shaking the thoughts from her head she looked back at Daniel and smiled. He looked a little down, how did she know this? Well, she wasn't sure how herself. She always knew peoples feelings, and what had been going. Makayla thought nothing of it and would just think she could tell by their facial expression, but that didn't explain their thoughts popping in her head. What she didn't know was she could to Legilimens, meaning, telling how people often feel about things.
She thought most wizards and witches could do this, apart from the muggle Born's, so she thought nothing of the matter. He did look awfully sad right now, she couldn't really cheer him up since she didn't know him. If she tried, he would probably think she was really weird. Especially because she didn't even know the boy either. "What is eating at you?"
[/b] She asked him raising a eyebrow. It was his own business, but Makayla could tell something was bugging this boy a lot. Hopefully, he couldn't ask her how she knew something was bugging him, since she wouldn't be able to explain that at all, obviously since she didn't know how she did it, she thought everyone could do it.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size][/blockquote] |

Daniel looked straight at the girl and looked away quickly. How did she know that something was wrong? He asked himself the question over and over again in his head before shrugging it off. She must have just figured so because of how he was walking or it must have just been obvious in some way. Daniel took a few seconds before answering and took a look around to see how many people were actually around. He was never one to just spill out what he was feeling around a bunch of people. But the feeling was there, to just take her off to the side somewhere and spill out everything that was bothering him. Again shrugging off the thought, he turned back to the girl.
“Um. Its nothing. Just family drama.” Daniel tried to keep cool and calm, he didn’t want to show he was under to much stress. This girl was obviously very good at reading people and he did not want her to ask to many more questions. “So. Er. How was your lunch?” He asked curiously, trying to change the subject as quickly as possible. Showing her an all fake smile, he awaited her answer. The hurt of his father starting to come back to his stomach, making it feel empty inside.

Makayla could tell that Daniel was wanting to know how she knew how he felt. She didn't really know. She took in most of her surroundings but block some out. "Ah, everyone gets that i think."
[/b] She said and smiled reassuringly. She didn't have much, just small arguments now and then, everyone had family problems and that. Maybe his were worse. She could feel how he felt, but she didn't mention anything, she didn't want to appear weird, although she did now and then. She smiled. "Oh, my lunch was very, amusing."[/b] It was, since they were using the Slytherin medicine back on them. Daniel shrugged a bit and just looked at the girl. She must not have quite understand. As far as he knew, not everyone's family had a muggle father who had to go back to war! The thought crossed his mind and started to get him a bit worked up. But taking a deep breathe, Daniel looked down and let the calm thoughts come back before he started going off. The last thing he wanted was to start ranting or yelling in front of the many many people whom were roaming the Entrance Hall corridors.
Trying to force another smile, Daniel looked back up and looked her up and down. It wasn't until now that he realized that the girl was not only a Gryffindor, but very very good looking as well. But he couldn't let that get in the way of his thought process now. Keeping in his military stance he looked up towards the stairs and back to the girl. He needed to get his mind off of things, and it seemed this girl would probably be able to do it. Awkward feeling to him or not. "So how is lunch amusing" He asked quickly. "And do you mind if we walk and talk? I have to get ready for my next class." He said with his real smile starting to show. If this was what he had to do to think of something else. So be it.

She looked at him for a moment before looking at the other kids who walked past to get to there class, while some people had a free lesson, which was a lesson she really adored. She rubbed her forehead. The thought did occur to her how she could actually tell how people where feeling and that now and then she could see in her mind, but she didn't ever stop n think she could do Legilimency.
She was taught from a early age, of course not being able to understand how to use it, sometimes if she touched people or looked at them for a while she felt it, felt there feelings. Of course her mother and father hadn't told her yet. She smiled and nodded.
She began to walk and waited for him. "Let's just say, me and my friends embarrassed the Slytherins."
[/b] She said a smirk across her lips as she began to walk. "What lesson do you have, i have Herbology."[/b] She heated it, the only lesson that could put her to sleep quickly.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/size] |

Daniel took off in his long strides of a march to catch up to her. He wasn't expecting her to just take off and keep going. His smile widened a little bit as she spoke about the Slytherins. He hated them so much, the whole lot of them. Every single one he had ever met in this school had been the exact same. Rude, mean, cruel to everyone but their own kind. Shaking off the thought he looked to his side at her. "Well there is nothing wrong with that." He said with a small smirk.
Reaching the top of the first flight he shrugged and looked at her. "Potions, unfortunately. Not my favorite of the classes." He said with a playful scowl. This was definetly not like him. What in the world am I doing? He thought to himself. Am I flirting with this girl? He asked himself quickly afterwards. Is this how he bounced back from is father leaving? By betraying his trust. This was definetly not good. The words started creeping up on him again. Like a curse. And Daniel immeadetly straightened up and looked forward.
"So shouldn't you be walking the other way?" He asked a bit curiously. "All of my Herbology classes took place outside." He said with a bit of sarcasm in his voice. He had to go back to his normal self. Who had to scare off people from talking to him, so he could focus.

Makayla smiled and laughed slightly at his comment. Most of the Slytherins hated her and would throw food at her. Sh would just sink to their level and throw her goblet that was full to the top with pumpkin juice. Which she would get called childish for, but that was her of course. Childish, wild, crazy and way to friendly. "Well, always good to get them back of course."
[/b] She said to him looking at him. She smirked slightly, Ah, potions, the worst of them all. She had double potions today already. Thank god she had escaped the wrath of Professor Snape. "I've had that today, twice."[/b] She said and looked at him with a bored look on her face after saying Potions. She smiled though and looked at him. She decided to ignore his sarcasm. "Yes, but there are other ways to get there."[/b] She replied to him, she had found another way, that way she could avoid the traffic jams the other students caused.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/size] |

Daniel shrugged again as he looked at her and got all the sudden very curious. A different way to the grounds that wasn't cluttered. That sounded all to perfect to him. "You should show me this way sometime. I promise I wont tell anyone." A small smile showed on him again as he turned a corner and got even closer to the Ravenclaw Common Room. "But for now, I have to get my books. Do you need someone to walk with to the grounds? Or is this where we part ways?" Daniel always seemed to show some maturity in his voice when he spoke. It was just the way he was brought up and taught how to do things. The smile started to disappear as he got closer to the common room. This was actually working to, getting his mind off of things. But now it all had to end.

Mikayla laughed a bit and nodded, she didn't really mind showing him the another way to the school grounds. "Yes, i will show you some time."
[/b] She said with a small smile on her face. She checked to make sure her wand was in her pocket, and it was. Thank god, the amount of times she had left her wand around were countless. She looked at him noticing herself near the Ravenclaw Common Room. "Well, it depends how late you want to be, because, I'm mostly late to my, less exciting lessons."[/b] she said adding a yawn and laughed slightly. It was up to him, she was always late to Herbology ad most people would tell the professor she was still asleep. Which was a lie of course.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/size] |

"That sounds great." He said with a small smile to match hers. That would be exceptionally well when he wanted to get outside withouta bunch of attention or stares from the other students around the school. Before stepping into the Ravenclaw Common Room, Daniel turned back to the girl and shrugged. "I still have about a half hour before class starts. I just like to be early to all of my classes." A blush started to show but quickly disappeared as Daniel started to get lost in the thoughts again of his father. "Um. Anyways, I'll be right back out. I have to go and grab my Potions book." Turning away without another word, Daniel whispered the password and stepped into the Common Room.
About two minutes later, Daniel appeared back out of the Common Room and looked at the girl. "Are you ready?" He asked, a small scowl appearing on his face. "Time for the worst class of the day." He said a smile finally appearing.

The way, well her secret way to the school grounds was very convenient at times. When the halls were jammed with people, she would go there, sometimes she even sat on the path to think. She keep thinking about her younger sister, seeing as her sister wanted to go to Hogwarts while Makayla was still there, but Makayla would of left by then. She smiled at Daniel and watched as he entered the Common room.
A few Slytherins walked past sneering and Makayla just laughed. She will get them back at dinner. Then they would be sorry about that. Her heart began to beat fast as she felt her feelings go a bit out of control. She shook her head, this happened a lot, mostly because, well, she didn't know. She shrugged and waited for Daniel. She wasn't really interested in boys at the moment. She couldn't help but think her was rather cute. She smiled as he came out. Silent at first.
"Of course I'm ready!"
[/b] She said with a cheerful smile as she looked at him. Maybe when they got to know each other better she could sow her wild side a bit, or a lot. She smirked, she hated most of her classes. From the boring, Herbolgy, to the dreadful ones, potions. She smiled and laughed. Laughing a little at her, Daniel stepped beside her and looked at her. "Well you are the leader this time." He said still smiling at her. "Lets see this super secret passageway." Letting her take the lead, Daniel followed her a little bit, making sure to just keep up with her enough to where he wasnt getting ahead. Looking her up and down, he swallowed quickly and shook his head. What in the world am I doing? He asked himself over and over again. This was definetly not a good situation to be in, but he didnt want to get out of it for some reason. This was making him smile without trying, something that was very rare in Daniel's life.
